Taban Hostel Zagreb Centre Reviews

Can be tough to find so print out a map of the area. Take two tram stops to square then ten minute walk up pedestrian mall to hostel which sits atop a bar/cafe. The bar is a different owner and this is evident by the way the bar staff totally ignore you when you arrive with a backpack on. However, the hostel staff were very helpful and the rooms was very clean. Hot showers and clean sheets. The breakfast is served in a basement bar and is absolute rubbish. Washing service cheap and fast.

We had a very plesent stay at the hostel the location was good! Staff friendly!

Staff is great and very helpful, the hostel is ideally situated in Zagreb and there are things going on in the evening! The hostel is nevertheless very calm. Would definitely recommend for any kind of person and travel and go back there if I am to come back in Zagreb.

Very well located, new, clean and Nice bedrooms and very cumfortable. The bar downstairs is also good. I recommend this hostel!

Great location in the town center, perfectly clean secure rooms, exceptionally sociable club bar, etc. Even if I had something to complain I wouldn't do it because the staff provided all possible assistance for me (private upgrade, city tips, restaurants, nightlife recommendations, assistance in transport and further travel arrangement.. even offered their own taxi service). Taban seems to be more focused on the Bar part of the hostel so it was sometimes difficult to get help to check in or ask questions as the bar staff does double duty as check in person during most of the day (it seems). I also didn't like walking through the bar to get to my room. The staff was nice enough but not particularly accomodating and most had a very laissez faire attitude. It was in a good location on the end of a long busy pedestrian street.

Taban Hostel one of the better hostels I have stayed in, in any country. It is nice, clean and has a great location. The very centre of Zagreb is a mere 3 minute walk away. The hostel is located on a very trendy street with some of the best bars and cafes in Zagreb. Location wise it doesn't get much better than this. The hostel itself has a good bar. The staff was very helpful, particularly the night receptionist Jelena, who was a sweetheart. I would definitely stay again.

A very good clean and tidy hostel in a great location

We stayed for one night and sorry for not staying longer! The hostel was new and clean and have nice style. It's top located in city centre and in beautiful walk-only street which is great to explore. Romantic old upper town, too many museums to see in a one day trip, charming area; Lot of bars in the area for evening hangouts and nice live music inside Taban's club space. Weekends supposed to be cheery here and we were fortunate to be there in the right time

Great place and friendly staff!

I stayed in Zagreb for only one night, but will definitly come back this summer on the way to the sea. Slept in a dorm room, clean, had lockers and survailance, no cerfew, 24 hrs reception. Hostel is in a great location, staff is kind and helpfull, even got free towels. The bar was emtpy during the day but packed in the evening. Great beer and nice girls!

From my point of view definitely the best hostel I have ever been (I traveled a lot.) Location in a center of the Zagreb, the all place is great, excellent combination of hostel and bar-club, all staff is so nice, clean and modern! The atmosphere is great, the employees make the hostel feel like one big family, they are very friendly and hospitable. I'll definitely coming back.

No wifi in rooms (4th floor) as supposed to be, thin walls , easy to hear everything in the surroundings. Pictures showed me a huge private room, but it was only a average room. Clean an nice atmosphere

Location is really great. You can reach to everywhere only a few min walking (bars, main square, cathedral, local bazaars etc.) There is no lots of things in hostel but if you want to sleep (only sleep) its good . Staffs are always helpfull. I went to zagreb in winter, their heating system was working well. Shared bathroom allways clean. If you want to go zagreb you can stay in taban hostel. It was a good holiday in taban and i really enjoyed in taban bar

People there were so kind with me!! They explained all things I needed. Ivana, the girl of reception, was very kind since I was send her emails with questions about Zagreb and everything. And the bar is very nice. I had a very good time there.

I really enjoyed my stay. Well located, on a popular street with good restaurants, bars, cafes & shops. Room was on the top floor, a good size, clean, modern, comfy bed & good heating. There was a bit of noise but I always travel with ear plugs so it wasn't a problem. Bathroom was v. clean & modern, shower was brilliant. Breakfast was basic but enough. Staff were v. friendly, approachable & helpful. Thank you very much!
