The staff of both Taipei City & Taipei Backpackers are incredibly helpful. Excellent location. Communal toilets are a little too small. Overall, excellent value for money.

The streets in Ximending are quite confusing and we still got lost after two nites there. The room is not big, yet the hostel is more characteristic and cosy compared to another hostel we stayed near Longshansi. I would recommend this hostel for many places to wander around Ximending at night and two well-functioning computers in the public area of the hostel.

Very quiet hostel, other guests were friendly, but never saw the staff outside of when we checked in. Keypad was useful in that I didn't have to remember a key, but also means that anyone who ever stayed there can get inside.

I feel that Mike was extremely friendly as he is always willing to lend a hand whenever necessary. Also, the hostel turned out to be way better than expected. " Wow factor" ? definitely. I was quite impresses by how well furnished and the upkeep of the hostel was. This is my first time staying in a hostel and any should there be a next time in other countries or so, Taipei City Hostel will be the benchmark. I'm impressed! So, keep up the good work!

It's nice to stay there though it's a bit small on room size, facility is good and considered for details. Location is fine so easy to walk around in central area. The room is not good on sound-proof, I was disturbed since some guys came back so late and speak aloud in Public area, so I hope you add explicit NOTICE for silence rule, especially after 11pm. That will help a bit since I see other hostel emphasize this an get good effect.

great location, very safe, confortable beds, VERY clean. The owner Mike was very nice helping us to stay longer than expected during the very busy time of chinese new year, and giving us advise for spots to visit around taipei. showers & toilets are quite small, but still clean and convenient to use.

The character matches young people. Very nice place and the furnitures and facilities are fashion and warm. I'll stay in this hostel again if I go to Taipei, and of course I will recommend it to my friends. Very fashion and nice place!!

I consider facility quite poor, becouse compare to other hostels in the world, here the showing rooms are very small and hot water just in the shower. Then the rooms have any box to store luggage. Otherwise the hostel is very nice and I spent a great time.

Beds were comfortable. The only downfall of the place is as many have mentioned that the toilets and showers are a tight squeeze. Otherwise it's a great place! I would stay there again. :)

A very new hostel with quaint decor. For the double room we booked, there is also a TV with many cable channels. Staff were friendly and helpful. If you are checking in after the reception hours (6pm if I'm not mistaken), it would be better to email the hostel beforehand to figure out the directions and the password to gain access to the hostel and your room. We went there by taxi past midnight but because the hostel sign was obscure, it was difficult to locate it.

I stayed at this hostel and it felt more like a four star hotel! Their safety facilities are excellent and fully equipped unlike any other hostels in Taiwan. Also, the environment is exceptionally clean and the staffs are all so welcoming and helpful. Walking to the nearest MRT only takes about 5 minute which is very convenient. ! I really enjoyed my stay here at Taipei City Hostel and would definitely come back the next time! If you're staying in Taipei, I sincerely recommend this hostel to you
