This hostel is a little pricey but it´s a good choice as the security is excellent and it is located in a good neighbourhood. It´s about a 20 minute walk to the downtown area. The dorms are clean and comfortable and there´s hot water for showers. The upstairs balcony is a nice place to chill out and there´s a tv downstairs but no common room as such. My only complaint about this place is that the hostel´s computer isn´t reliable and the internet is pricey at 2 dollars an hour.

My stay at Tamarindo Hostel was good. Security was very good and they keep the gate locked at all times. They open the gate for entry and exit of each guest. The hostel does conduct a neighborhood store out of the hostel also. As the gate is locked, every time a street customer wants a soda, chips or other item, they ring a buzzer to get the attendant. This becomes a bit of a pain, if you are trying to chill out or take a nap. Tamarindo is a tad bit expensive, even for San Pedro Sula.
