Location is excellent - we loved being outside of the town but within 10 minute bus journey and busstop only a 5 minute walk from hostel. Staff were lovely, and very helpful. Couple of restaurants within walking distance. Free internet. The hostel itself was fine, though a little out of the way, and the receptionist who helped us (i.e. rescued us from where we ended up) was great. The major problem is the directions given to get to the hostel. They are nowhere near detailed enough to be able to find the place (which is in a small village-like community off the main road). The hostel itself was really nice, but we had major problems finding it, because even the local people didn't know about it even though it was just located 200m away from their homes...The staff had to pick us up, which was nice. This hostel is very well-maintained with nice, comfortable rooms. The beds are much more comfortable than in many nearby hostels. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We were grateful to Ben, the proprietor, for suggesting that we come with him up Jade Emperor hill to view the eclipse of July 22, 2009. It was a wonderful place to see it. A lovely, clean and quiet place a few bus stops from the West Lake. Ben was INCREDIBLY kind and helpful - from 2 free nights of luggage storage when I saw the eclipse (aswell as saying I could call him anytime if I got into trouble) to acquiring train tickets and noting down bus information(!) The hostel is located in a very nice typical neighborhood, the staff is very helpful and very nice! The hostel is cleant, rooms are not very large but sufficient and the bathroom is cleant!
