very clean with a friendly staff. this is a VERY quiet place with chineese tourists so if you are looking to meet/party with western backpackers, this is not the place for you. it is about a 15-20 minute walk to the south end of the lake. the hostel is very hard to find because it is up a small alleyway. the cab driver couldnt find it so we called the girl that was working and she walked to the cab(we were close).the alleyway/street is about 300 m up the rd from the zoo and you will see Q HOSTEL

Location is excellent - we loved being outside of the town but within 10 minute bus journey and busstop only a 5 minute walk from hostel. Staff were lovely, and very helpful. Couple of restaurants within walking distance. Free internet. Laundry facilities and nice rooms with great AC and black out curtains so lie ins are on the cards!!

Friendly and helpful staff, nice rooms. Difficult to find, so print off the map and take it with you!

The hostel itself was fine, though a little out of the way, and the receptionist who helped us (i.e. rescued us from where we ended up) was great. The major problem is the directions given to get to the hostel. They are nowhere near detailed enough to be able to find the place (which is in a small village-like community off the main road). Map definitely needed!

The hostel itself was really nice, but we had major problems finding it, because even the local people didn't know about it even though it was just located 200m away from their homes...The staff had to pick us up, which was nice. Everything else was ok!

This hostel is very well-maintained with nice, comfortable rooms. The beds are much more comfortable than in many nearby hostels. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We were grateful to Ben, the proprietor, for suggesting that we come with him up Jade Emperor hill to view the eclipse of July 22, 2009. It was a wonderful place to see it. Highly recommended.

A lovely, clean and quiet place a few bus stops from the West Lake. Ben was INCREDIBLY kind and helpful - from 2 free nights of luggage storage when I saw the eclipse (aswell as saying I could call him anytime if I got into trouble) to acquiring train tickets and noting down bus information(!) I would definitely recommend this place :)
