Very good location, near two underground stations, loads of restaurants in the street. The neighborhood is very lively at night with street markets. Rooms are big but quite dirty, there was dust everywhere, we even found an empty bottle. The staff can't speak English but they are kind.

Excepting by some little English talked by a couple of people, no English talked. They didnt accpet my visa, mastercard or Amex card for payment. No good attitude in general. Good installains in bad state. Sockets. Doors. I was stuck in the bathroom for hours because of the bathroom lock. Until my russian roommates rescued me. My stay 2nd-14th May 2012. The first three days excellent WIFI connection. Not again. They hardly clean the dorm. Hardly water in the shower. Sometimes cold.

This is not a hostel. It is a old hotel that lists as a hostel to try and make more money, not because it has hostel facilities. Internet (both wifi and one computer) not usable as mouse missing and then kept cutting out, communal area was very dirty and had no food to purchase. The rooms were cleaned superficially, but not clean. E.g. the floor of my room was sticky. There were a also a few stray hairs on the floor, and bathroom not clean. Gross. Room very overpriced. The cleanliness

Great Hostel, located near 2 metro-stations. Good and cheap food just around the corner. Jeff, the manager is an amzazing guy. Had a great time with him, and the rest of the staff. The hostel, formally a hotel is good value for money. Free internet, and if something isn't clean you tell them and they'll fix it. Also the can help with traintickets.

Nice and good value for money place, spacey rooms, considerably clean ensuite bathroom, next to a supermarket, overall a great choice when staying in BeiJing. The only 2 downsides I can sum up are that the key card lock was malfunctioning some of the time and that there was no wifi in the dorm room itself (only in the community room/bar). Stayed for 7 nights.

It wasn't terrible. I mean, I didn't travel to Beijing to spend my days in a hostel, so I only stayed there at night. The management is poorly organized, and we had trouble with our room key working every day. But it worked. If you already booked, that's okay. However, if you haven't, I recommend another place. Make sure to walk West down Jiaodaokou street and you will find some really cool Hutongs - bars, restaurants, and shops are on a street on the left side.

Nice hostel and nice people that made my stay in Beijing a good time to remember. No doubt I will come back whenever I find myself again in the city. Thanks to the staff for their good work and cool energy.

VERY dirty- the room clearly hadn't been cleaned in many days (floors dirty, all trashcans full, beds a mess, etc). Smoking is allowed in all areas (rooms, common areas) and it has a LOVE MOTEL feel. I left early- I've stayed in hostels in 12 countries-worst so far. Not a great area for tourism. No computers available for internet use. Managemt not helpful at all. No bar or restaurant as advertised. Apparently, they decided to turn this into a hotel and not a hostel. BAD CHOICE. NOT RECOMMENDED!

It doesn't have the character and the coziness I experienced from other Hostels in Beijing. The cleanliness must be improved a lot. Our room was not clean when we arrived and was not cleaned during our stay.

Really original hostel/hotel combination! Give you large and spacious room even for the dormitory, with private bathroom, don't have to wait hours to take shower or go to toilets. A real pleasure after a lot of travelling in many country in asia, the staff and especially the managers are really friendly and always here with you for a joking time!! Location great!! loved it!

My stay was great. Definitely one of the better hostels in Beijing. The staff were friendly and the dorm room was spacious. Met a lot of great people so I'm glad I stayed there.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Tang Hostel. I especially loved the people working there. They were really welcoming and helpful, they made me feel at home and really looked afer me. The location is superb and relatively quiet considered how busy the area is. The view over the Hutong will make your day! Jeff and Florian, the managers, are real charmers, whilst Tony will solve any technical problem as well as cooking you a great lunch! This place has got lot of potential, will go there again!

This is a very great hostel! The staffs are very helpful and nice, especially for Jeff, he is the best hostel staff I have ever seen. Facilities are also very good. I love the independent bathroom in every dorm, it is great for travelers. We didn’t have to wait for bathroom. This is a great hostel; I will definitely stay in this hostel again when I visit Beijing again!!!
