Great hostel but the people staying there are quite long term and mostly arrogant pricks. So unfortunately it made it not very good. So if these people leave hostel would be awesome.

Best hostel I've stayed at on my travels in NZ. So homely and welcoming. The staff were lovely. Really enjoyed the free chocolate pudding!

As you can clearly see, I loved this place. Great location 5 minute walk from the shops, and this was a lovely walk over a bridge, views of the river, Beautiful. The hostel had a lovely friendly feel, friendly &knowledgable staff. I arrived the fire alarm was sounding, at least it works, and they test it. Lounge and dining area I really liked, there is also lots of information about the area, things to do placed into folder, for quick reference. The rooms clean and tidy, as were the toilets.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Tasman Bay, the delicious chocolate pudding and ice cream was definitely a bonus! It's a great way to bring everyone together in the hostel. Comfy beds, spacious and clean kitchen with plenty of cutlery and dishes to use. About a 10 minute walk into town and a free pick up from the bus station. Highly recommend.

Good cozy hostel with good vibe and some character. Twin room #6 is not worth it though since right by the stairs and loud from frequent traffic.

This hostel is amazing. Best we've stayed in so far. Free chocolate pudding and ice cream is lush. And unlimited free wifi and bikes! No complaints!

This was by far my best stay in New Zealand so far. Friendly staff. Real homey feel to it. The long DVD list offered is super cool, just make sure you or someone in your room has a laptop to d/l them. Not a far walk to city center. Great stay.

Located close to town center. The guy at the reception had a lot of tips and advice. There is free chocolate-pudding/cake every day. The world map on the main wall in the living room was good :-)

Friendly Atmosphere. Very busy, people constantly coming and going, a very social hostel. Did feel a bit overcrowded at times (Kitchen and bathrooms). There are no staff on duty at night. It is a two storey timber building with no sound insulation apparently. It is very difficult to get a good nights sleep with people singing and walking up and down the hallways at 2am. Lovely gardens to sit in with edible herbs, lots of tour information. Very friendly and helpful staff. A party hostel.

Nice laid back hostel, our room was clean and the decor was nice, the free dessert in the evening was a nice touch. They seem to go the extra mile for their guests. We moved here after staying in a noisy hostel on the same street so was nice to finally get a good nights sleep.
