I regularly stay in hostels and don't have unreasonable expectations - a bed & toiletry facilities that are clean and functional are all I expect for the cheap rates of a dorm stay. This place was very crowded (potentially overbooked?), had only one dedicated toilet for the entire hostel, No A/C in a large dorm room with no functioning window (temp on the day I stayed was above 40deg C), & showers were fairly "prison issue". No secure lockup for belongings in dorm room either. Won't stay again.

Friendly and helpful staff . Location was excellent. But NO AIR CON in the rooms and it was 41 degrees celsius in adelaide AT NIGHT!-we ended up checking in to another hostel because the room was over 50 degrees and there was an air conditioning unit outside our window blowing WARM AIR into the room. No one got any sleep, UNBEARABLE! Stay here, just not in summer.

I did not enjoy my stay at this hostel. It was very noisy, dirty and small. We could not sleep properly due to the music played in the bar in the level below the hostel. The showers did not really work: it was always too hot or too cold, there where no places to hang stuff on and I could not close the door of the shower! I had to do this with a rock.... There was no place to hang or chill, only the kitchen.

I did not quite expect this hostel to be so old and un-renovated (especially the restrooms)! It was fantastic that there was free breakfast but instead a new shower curtain, new (unbroken) chairs or more than the three toilets would be nice... Usually nice staff can help (and two are very nice) but everything took ages: receipts, refilling the drinking water supply, the breakfast cereal/milk/coffee...

Excellent little hostel above a bar and gaming lounge, nice rooms, plenty of security including own lockers which was good! Nicely situated in the middle of the city, takes about 2 minutes walk to the main shopping street complex. Overall would recommend to anyone, very good well run hostel! Thanks for the stay :)

It's a good location, even though the city is not really active. The good sides : Free milk all day, late free breakfast (12pm), free laundry (and dryer), free wifi, balconey The bad sides : staff not really friendly, hostel really old would need renovations, not enough bathrooms, absolutely no activities in the hostel, no common room where people can meet

This was a good hostel, close to everything and with a cheap price. They should have lockers for everybody not just the first few who get one.

The hostel is located over a bar with pokies machines which gives it a pretty bad character and is unconfortable as you have to go through this part to actually enter the hostel. Bathrooms were not clean and the 6 people room had no windows or ventilation which made it horrible. Good thing was the free and abundant breakfast provided and kind staff

This was a great hostel, free wifi, free laundry and free breakfast. I love this because I hate when you think you have booked a good deal and then they charge ridicules amounts for wifi and laundry. Well at this hostel you don't need to think about that. The location is great in the middle of town but still noise is not a problem. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and tidy and nice bathrooms. I can't find anything to complain about.

It's a nice place to meet people at a good location, but they do have to clean much much more! Cockroaches in the Kitchen, the showers and toilets are very dirty. There are only a view toilets and showers for a lot of people, it's not a big affort to clean those at least twice a day (and cleaning doesn't mean only empty the bins). And what I realy disliked is that one of the staf members told me to find myself a pay phone somewhere in the city if I wanted to book a tour?!

If you will open room 12, you must use key and doorhandle. So you need both hands :-( It will be enough to open the door only with key !!! A few doorhandle didn't work well. You need a lot of power to turn it so that the door open.

Went for 2 days, stayed 3 weeks. I didn't want to leave this place. I met so many cool people here. The hostel was great and the staff were amazing. They bent over backwards to help you out. As I had no real plan they often had me down in the morning asking to book for that night and it was never a problem. Free breakfast, Roast dinner on a Sunday and Pasta & salad on a Saturday for $1.00. Also free laundry facilities. Brilliant place!

Stayed here in the past & is still an excellent place to stay. nice renovated kitchen with new stove, good size clean rooms, free wifi, top location in the cente of the nightlife district and the staff are always friendly, helpful & great to get along with. Any help or advice you need, just ask & they'll send you in the right direction. In my opinion, I think the friendliest & nicest backpackers I've stayed at anywhere. In fact anywhere in the world. Also great prices so check it out.

probably one of the best hostels stayed at while in aus. thoug the door handles are hanning off in some places its a lovely hostel, the people and staff are really nice, and the free things included are great, free washing mashine and tumble dryer are great. its small so you have a feeling more of a comunity, making you feel more at home.

There've been quite a lot of improvements & renovations here & they're great. New stove, big TV & a number of other guests I spoke with also thought it was all a pretty good deal, especially at these prices & with such a perfect, centre of the City location. You'll also find free WIFI is available & a nice verandah overlooking the street where you can enjoy a cool drink & some pleasant company. The staff are all very helpful, friendly & easy to approach if there's anything you need.
