Having experiences various hostels across countries, this one really deserves the title of a "Design Hostel". I spent 3-4 days here and was impressed with the use of space and amenities even in the 8 people dorm, but what was pleasantly surprising was the small design interventions to make the travellers life easier. For instance, the beds have curtains to allow for privacy, individual fans, a shelf to keep your phones for charging while you sleep. Wouldn't think of going anywhere else in Porto.

The kitchen is great. The common spaces are nice. The rooms are nice and well designed. The staff as with most late hostels are aloof and disengaged. We had a bed bug scare but they moved us immediately. They also didn't stock the beds with the same things so we had to take pillows and blankets from other empty beds. The breakfast was standard and free. The terrace was beautiful.

Staffs were really friendly and helpful. They suggested me where to go during my stay. Breakfast was super nice, tons of fruits and homemade breakfast (pancake) were amazing!! Convenient location, really close to the Luis I bridge and around 7 to 8 minutes walk to the main shopping street!

This is an awesome hostel which is really tough considering it is so big. Usually large hostels suck for atmosphere but this one was good. Fridge was fairly full but got my food to squeeze in, breakfast was really good including pikelets, croissants, bread, jam and Nutella, cereal, juice, tea, coffee, ham and cheese. The staff aren't watching either so you can take food for lunch. Walking tours pick you up from hostel and are excellent and alcohol in the hostel is really cheap. Bed curtains rock

Great hostel. Loved the rooftop bar, great for socialising. Rooms were a little cramped & climbing onto the top bunks was borderline dangerous after a few drinks, but beds were comfortable & lockers great. Ensuites with 2 showers & toilets were good & clean. Restaurant was really nice, & the staff were super friendly. Great kitchen.

Great hostel! Friendly staff, friendly people, great bar! The hostel was clean and the first where I've seen key cards used for both the room door and the locker, which is so much better than keys or keycard+key system, much easier. The curtains on the beds are always a plus.

Great hostel with many organized activities, they really try to bond travelers together. Stayed there during Sao Joao festival, and although it is located in the middle of the city, the noise does not get to the hostel at all. Great facilities with many common areas. The rooms are a little small but it's expected as most buildings in the city center are old.

Very clean, quiet hostel. Hard to meet people but good for families/people who want a break or downtime. Good location (very short walk from the main train station), you have to walk uphill but it's a very quick walk. Facilities were clean/good, it's very nice that they have curtains for the bunk bed.

I stayed in a twin room in a building separate to the main hospital. The room and facilities were excellent, one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. The staff are friendly and very knowledgable about porto. Brilliant breakfast and chance to go on a free walking tour every morning.

The owners were very friendly, great central location, and lots of smart details like individual bed curtains with outlets, lights and a mini-fan. Restaurant was very good as well.

Really liked it here. The atmosphere was a little lacking because of the curtains in the rooms we didn't really meet anyone but the curtains were also a plus for that reason I suppose. Everything you need within arms reach.

Tattva has the rating it does for a reason. This place has been well thought out and designed. Special points go to the tropical aquarium inside.

Very nice hostel, beds with curtains, clean bathrooms, staff was friendly. The location is also good, close to the main city attractions. Free walking tours are organized 4 times per day (!), recommend it. Only downside is that it is perhaps less easy to socialize with other people if you're travelling alone, since it is a very big hostel.

Hello! Thank you so much for taking time to review us and i am glad you enjoyed our facilities! Sorry to hear that you felt difficult to socialize, we do have several social areas like the common kitchen, our big terrace, and some activities to get people closer (ex. free portuguese lessons, "dinner with the staff", BBQ in the terrace, happy hours) but sometimes, when we have groups, i know it seems difficult, but i hope the staff made your stay better! Happy Travels from your Tattva friends

The facilities are very nice. I stayed in a ten bed dorm and the room was very nice with a great ensuite bathroom. The lockers under the bed were very convenient to lock away valuables. The common areas were really cool. The top bunks are VERY DIFFICULT to get in and out of. Breakfast was delicious, although they could have more accommodating hours. All in all, the hostel felt a little bit more like a hotel - great for groups but not ideal for the individual backpacker looking to meet people.

Hello! Thank you so much for your words! We are really happy that you liked our facilities!About the top bunks, we are re-doing it and the next time you come, for sure it will be different! We serve breakfast from 7h30 am till 10h30 am, i sorry to hear that was enough:( sorry, when we have groups, sometimes the hostel feels more empty, but we try to organize activities for the individual traveler (free portuguese lessons, "dinner with the staff", bbq nights, francesinha nights).Love from Tattva

Clean and super cool. The lockers were a great idea and could fit everything I had in there (quite a big suitcase and backpack). Breakfast was the best I've had at any hostel and the outdoor area was the coolest place to chill out. Would definitely stay again!

Absolutely wonderful. Very clean, very organized, very well located, and looks very fancy inside. The beds and locks under the beds are just great and spacious, you can probably fit in it. The staff is just the most friendly and beautiful one can ever get. Seating outside the rooftop was the best, and partying in town with staff was great. 100% guys!
