Rooms and showers are very cold. If you ask they will give you extra blankets. We stayed for multiple nights and had to change rooms multiple times. When we first arrived they had lost our reservation and didnt have space in the room we reserved. There were a couple staff members who were helpful, otherwise they weren't very friendly and just kind of states at us when we asked a question. It was a bit awkward and we were glad to get out of Puno...

The location was great and the room was large. However, there was never hot water during our two night stay, one of the reasons we booked at Tayka.

We arrived very early in the morning. There was no room available, what was okay. But we had to wait in the freezing cold lobby, where was noI heater, no plankets, no hot tea - nothing! I got a serious cold after waiting for hours. You have to paid extra for everything in this place and they seem to be a bit unorganized. Not de place to be, you'll find a better one.
It's a hotel facility with sharing rooms. Everyone from Tayka is very gentle and it's family run like.
very nice hostel, staff amazing but privates rooms a little noisy... anyway great deal !
Excellent location, and they provided free heaters, amended our booking and prompt email responses, and good breakfast selection. Staff don't speak enough English though so struggled a bit. They also don't keep much change for settling in $, so help them out and bring some extra soles. The showers are warm, not quite hot. The toilets did not always flush properly, but think it's more to do with the Puno plumbing in general. Also the games room has actually disappeared now.
Great place, even gave me a heater for the cold nights. Also staff helped whe we had problem with tour booked somewhere else. 1.5 blocks from Plaza de Armas. Definitely will stay again.Electric showers but still better than other places I stayed with NO hot water at night.
Excellent place. Would definitely recommend it. Had some minor problems with the toilet flushing.
More of a hotel than a hostel. Location was good as it was only a couple blocks from the plaza de armas. Breakfast was also good. Standard rolls but with bananas, cereal, meats and cheeses. Rooms were a little cold but the beds had plenty of heavy blankets. The staff that we encountered spoke english and were helpful.
