liked my stay but knew it was a party hostel. found some of the staff a little bit "clicky" so lone travellers could feel a little intimidated and the showers werent great. Apart from theose little things it has a good atmosphere and I did stay an extra day

Tekweni was so much fun! Probably not the best place for people who want a quiet place to sleep, but for those who want to have a good time and meet new people it's perfect. The staff was great, it was clean and the beds were typical hostel-standard. Would definitely recommend it!

The place is in a great position for going to explore Florida rd. however the staff were too high or drunk late at night to help when a problem arose.

Hey Chad, Thanks for rating us. We are supposed to be fun place but that is not supposed to happen. Sometimes it is a fine line running a festive hostel like ours. We will investigate that night and speak to the people involved. I see you rated us pretty well outside of that which is good news. We hope to see you back!

Tekweni is the perfect place for who wants to stay close to bars, restaurants in Florida Ave. Close to the Moses Madhiba Stadium (the best stadium to visit in SA), for sure I`d go back again!

Noisy place with the bar inside the hostel.

The hostel is ok, the staff say it is ok. But its own security and support staff at the time when you need it - awful bad! Someone broke a window and took all the documents, camera,.... all the important things. Staff was not too tired to help, only they called security. When I left I left a few things there - the staff were sent to my cost of things lasted for 14 days! ... They are not serious! Never go there. Beware of rooms 5

Hi Frank, We are very, very sorry about this incident. It was the first to happen to that room as there was much security in place to protect that room. We have since put even more in place to make sure it didn't happen again and the room is definitely safe once again. We are particularly sorry it happened to you as I know for a fact that you were having a great time up until that point. You posted this fact directly on our site more than once and I saw you enjoying yourself. Unfortunately you left early the day after it happened as i wanted to personally apologize to you. I know it is probably too late but sorry Frank!! Should you come back our way, we want to make it up to you and you will get a few nights free as well as a few drinks at the bar. Sorry once again that this ruined your stay. Hopefully you will swing back our way. Regards, Patrick
