stay here only for the location - this place is a dump.. it was cold and damp and some smell was lingering. There's no wi-fi, and it's even rare to find toilet paper in the bathroom.. The staff were pretty cool though, and when I bailed after the first night they apologised and refunded me for the other two nights that I paid up front.

I booked 3 nights at Terra Nova and ended up staying nearly 2 weeks! Such a brilliant and international group of people were staying there. It gave me a real taste of South American culture and we had some amazing asados! They have tango and yoga classes plus music nights and it's right by the Plaza and local shops, Parilla's, laundry etc...fun staff who look after you and become friends. Beds are comfy, bathroom & kitchen are basic but that didn't matter much, everything else made up for it!!

Nice atmosphere, with loads of South-American artists staying there. Good location. Downside: no private lockers, although you can leave your passport in the hostels safe.

I had booked 5 nights at Terranova, but only chose to stay for one, as during my brief stay there was no toliet paper in ANY of the bathrooms, there was no hot water, there were many holes in the wall (like it was still being renovated) and I´´m assuming because of the holes that is why I saw a rat in the common area. This would not have been a huge problem, but the door to my dorm room did not close properly so I was a bit worried that I may wake up with a furry critter next to my head!
