Very friendly staff. Comfortable beds in the dorm. There is no AC in the dorm but adequate number of fans. I had one next to my bed but some people complained it was a bit too hot. Would have been nice if they served some meals, all they do is breakfasts and sandwiches. They are expensive and not great. The staff have a good knowledge of Chiang Mai and can help you with any activities you want to book. It's a quiet little hostel but can be social in the living area. Can't ask for a lot more.

Nice owners, good location. Too much like a military camp though. Everything paid for on the day. Also. Too many hidden charges (you want aircon, hey that's extra). Better place (samlanjed) down the road.

Very friendly, helpful staff and a nice space downstairs to hang out, with tables, comfy mats & pyramid pillows and a book exchange. Beds in the dorm are fine, though some areas get aircon and others have fan, which can be a little hot.1 toilet upstairs and 2 downstairs, with 3 showers. Allocated lockers outside the dorms and space on the upstairs terrace to dry wet Songkran clothes! Breakfast not included but they do toast, eggs, fruit shakes, etc. for reasonable prices.

This place is the coolest: it's small and cosy, and the staff is fabulous. Khai and Noyna, you guys are the best! Perfect example of people who love their job and do it well. The rooms may be small but for such a great price, you have everything you need. Food is good, as an added bonus (not free, but worth every Baht). Not in the center, but just a short (and safe) walk away from main attractions.

It is beyond me why this hostel has such good reviews. I had to change accommodation after only one night. It feels too much like a prison. The two rooms have ten beds each and I had to walk through the other room to get to my one. I had booked the air-con room, but it was only working between 6 p.m. and 9 a.m, which made it impossible to do anything in your room in the day, since it was South oriented and felt like a sauna. In the night the aircon made it very cold. Beds very shaky and unstable

The Thailandwow had such a nice atmosphere, we felt comfortable the moment we stepped in. It is located in the residential area of the old Town, so the sights are near, but it is quiet at night and very relaxing in the day. The receptionist gave us a good introduction on all the sights and markets, how we can reach there, how long it takes... The only bad thing is that the AC in the dorm is only on at night,so too hot to sleep in the day.Though there are nice cushions to sleep and chill outside.

Not all that much of a social scene as this hostel is fairly small and only has an outdoor table for socializing, but it is in a great location and is close to nightlife. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind, the one guy answered about 500 questions for me. They have great discounts on trips, cooking classes ect. The place is clean with nice bathroom, but the mattress were made of bricks and the lack of air con can kill you on a hungover summer morning. Overall fantastic value

One of the best hostels I've stayed in! We booked one night and stayed another 5 in both private and dorm. It's clean, the staff are really friendly and helpful, it's close to everything and very secure. Really chilled out atmosphere and nice to meet people over a couple of beers. Totally value for money and I will definitely come back. I am surprised about the previous bad reviews, sounds like they were wanting a 5 star resort rather than a backpacker hostel.

10 minutes walk true an empty street to get anywhere. Staff try to sell you stuff, and get mad if you buy it from someone else, no air con, but fans with a bad location... no one I talked to thought this hostel was even close to the ratings it had gotten.

The hostel is nothing but a house turned into a chicken-farm hostel. Bathroom and showers are just strict minimum ... but the worst is these rooms were underbudget students are packed in 4 bunk-beds with no A/C and only two fans (that makes u cold if u sleep right underneath. The girl can be cool/nice but onhouse-rules posted on the wall are "rude" (ex : "keep ur damn clothes..." etc). Cheap but u have double beds rooms for 350-400 everywhere so the hostel is worth it, to my point of view.

Mostly comfortable but can get a little hot in the rooms since there's no AC. Nice people but not very social. If you plan to book a trek, do it outside the hostel. We wanted to book one trek and they talked us into a different one that ended up being horribly run. Clearly, the hostel was receiving some sort of commission. Overall though, not bad as it's very cheap.

Lovely hostel, great staff (especially Kai!). However, you feel a little pressured there to buy a bunch of expensive tours/excursions from the hostel, and are sort of made to feel bad if you don't.

We stayed at Thailandwow for a week and it was a great place. Very excellent location! The staff was helpful and very friendly. Sometimes too friendly but that was nice! They have plenty of tours available for a good price. The chillout area in the front of the hostel is very nice, and the rooms are decent. Good facilities, clean.
