If you're passing through Krabi Town you might consider Thaksin Grand Home. The woman at the front desk is very nice and helpful with booking transportation, local tours, etc. However the rooms are a far cry from the glossy looking photo I saw online. The rooms are tired but worse the sheets and towels are stained and in desperate need of replacement.

This place is a little out of the way, which we didn't realize when we initially booked. You have to catch a ride to the beach, but it's really easy to do as covered trucks going straight to the beach pass in front every 10-15 mins and only costs about 20 Baht. The lady who owns the guesthouse was really friendly and very helpful in helping us to book tours. There are a couple of night markets within walking distance, and she even lets you cook for yourself in her kitchen!

My stay was great in the beginning, but on one faithful eve I slipped in front of the Hotel and broke my ankle... yes BROKE my ankle. Jit and her husband (& even their son) were great, they scooted me to the clinic and than to hospital and they also fixed the room so the next day (before my flight to Bangkok) I could sleep comfortably!! This was such a great experience where I fully felt that had I been in a non-family run hotel my plight would have been a bad one. This is a great place to stay!

I wish I had known about the wi-fi before making the reservations. The description did not mention it. If it had, I would have stayed somewhere else. Maybe I could have asked for a room further away from the antenna. I wound up very sick. Not everyone wants wi-fi.

Love this hostel. Very good value and clean. The lady who runs it is so nice and welcoming. Only a short walk to the town center.
