Pros: Great security, free beer every night, pool table and ping pong just down the road from B&B at the Hostel, lockers available, self service laundry, close to bus station, great bar staff Cons: 20 minutes from centre of town right on top of what seems to be the busiest road in La Paz, pungent bathroom, freezing or boiling showers, expensive food, under the impression that it was quite lively but it was empty

The location is good in that it's close to the bus terminal but our room was facing the main road and the traffic was so noisy all night. The room was fine, basic, when we first arrived it smelled really strongly of a cleaning product and after a while I realised it was probably to try to cover the smell of the drains coming from the bathroom. Thia place is cheap and you get what you pay for.

The bars were great, but staff were at times unhelpful and unfriendly. When trying to pay in US dollars, we were told Bolivianos would be better, but after changing currency, we found out the hostel used a ridiculous exchange rate to calculate the price, adding nearly an extra an 10% to the cost of the room. Only after a long discussion were we allowed to pay in US dollars. Our room stank of mould, and water for sale in the hostel was some of the most expensive I have seen in Bolivia.

secured stay with friendly stuff...

I arrived very early and they let me check in because there were beds available. The location is good, very close to the bus terminal and the center of the city. The room was clean, the bathroom was inside with hot water all the time. Breakfast was basic, pancakes and tea or coffee. WiFi is not the best, if you are in the lobby and the first floor it's better, not in the rest of the areas. Staff, kind enough.

Very nice hostel. They have a guard in the entrance, so it is very safe. Clean. Good location. Many rooms. Good breakfast. Staff is cool. And it is not noisy. If you are looking for a place to rest, it is the right place.

Fab atmosphere in the joint atmosphere next door, laundry self service and really helpful staff. 2 problems... Wifi really useless and the shower was either scolding hot that you couldn't stand under it or freezing!

Good location, about 10min walk to San Francisco square, felt safe and secure for La Paz. Only downfall is that the common area is the unwelcoming bar, only, so for a lone it was hard to meet other people.

The pancakes for the breakfast are delicious! the hostel got a good loaction (in a main street). I just got some problems with the wifi, it was pretty bad!

The B&B has definitely deteriorated since we were here 2 years ago. There is no longer a kitchen, the sky bar is used for breakfast and, the only social area is now the bar in the other part, which is also the only smoking area in the building, not a very good place to eat for a nonsmoker. The free beer was a decent sized glass, but is now just a taster.

Great location but not entirely clean. The hostel have two facilities so a bit confusing.

Excellent hostel! Very surprised at some of the mediocre reviews I read before booking, as everything was excellent. Hot water and wifi also not a problem at all! Only down side is the pancake breakfast, but this is obviously personal preference. They should take into account that not everyone wants pancakes (especially not every day for a good few days!) Stayed some nights in both buildings (shared and private room) and both great!

Cheap option but lacking in atmosphere. Also our room smelt like dirty water. But overall fine, yummy pancakes for brekkie and a cool skybar although the bar was never open

Reception is understaffed and there is often a long lineup. The showers were cold and the WiFi was slow.

The hostel was short staffed so long waiting periods for check in, info on the town, washing etc. The "sky bar" was not open and they ran out of beer on the first day we arrived. Beer still not available on our 4th day staying at either properties. We stayed at both properties and each morning the breakfast ran out and all cups and plates were dirty so couldn't be used. Also the non-smoking signs throughout didn't make a difference as people were smoking in non-smoking areas.

The room was very comfortable and perfectly suitable to simple backpacker needs. The food was adequate, the staff competent and the location of the entire hostel convenient with regards to proximity to both the city centre and to the bus terminal. Storage of luggage was also exemplary, with especially assigned staff 24 hours a day, despite the obvious fire hazard posed by the wooden structures and the locked front door. However, a 01:00 o'clock noise ban would NOT be out of order.

The location was good because the hostel is right on the Main Street and is close to the square. The breakfast was really good and we lived the kitchen staff. The shared bathrooms were pretty dirty but everything else was good. Overall my sister and I enjoyed our stay.

Good facilities close to the main areas but the breakfast and WiFi needs to be improved.

The hostel is very loud as all the rooms are based around a central communal area. The beds are uncomfortable and it gets very cold at night. A good point to mention is the hostel is only a short walk from the bus terminal so you don't need to get a taxi. I only stayed 2 nights but I wouldn't stay again.

When I arrived The amount due was about 47$, which i had on paper in an e-mail, they kept on insisting I pay more than that since The price in $ and bolivianos is different on line. They didn't listen tot The fact that it is not my responsability but theirs to see their prices match. Eventually i was so tired of arguing about this and payed more... On top of that our room (2-5) was reeking of mould, the bathroom hadn't been thouroughly cleaned in agesages.
