Excellent hostel! Very surprised at some of the mediocre reviews I read before booking, as everything was excellent. Hot water and wifi also not a problem at all! Only down side is the pancake breakfast, but this is obviously personal preference. They should take into account that not everyone wants pancakes (especially not every day for a good few days!) Stayed some nights in both buildings (shared and private room) and both great!

Cheap option but lacking in atmosphere. Also our room smelt like dirty water. But overall fine, yummy pancakes for brekkie and a cool skybar although the bar was never open

The hostel was short staffed so long waiting periods for check in, info on the town, washing etc. The "sky bar" was not open and they ran out of beer on the first day we arrived. Beer still not available on our 4th day staying at either properties. We stayed at both properties and each morning the breakfast ran out and all cups and plates were dirty so couldn't be used. Also the non-smoking signs throughout didn't make a difference as people were smoking in non-smoking areas.

The room was very comfortable and perfectly suitable to simple backpacker needs. The food was adequate, the staff competent and the location of the entire hostel convenient with regards to proximity to both the city centre and to the bus terminal. Storage of luggage was also exemplary, with especially assigned staff 24 hours a day, despite the obvious fire hazard posed by the wooden structures and the locked front door. However, a 01:00 o'clock noise ban would NOT be out of order.

The location was good because the hostel is right on the Main Street and is close to the square. The breakfast was really good and we lived the kitchen staff. The shared bathrooms were pretty dirty but everything else was good. Overall my sister and I enjoyed our stay.

Good facilities close to the main areas but the breakfast and WiFi needs to be improved.

The hostel is very loud as all the rooms are based around a central communal area. The beds are uncomfortable and it gets very cold at night. A good point to mention is the hostel is only a short walk from the bus terminal so you don't need to get a taxi. I only stayed 2 nights but I wouldn't stay again.

When I arrived The amount due was about 47$, which i had on paper in an e-mail, they kept on insisting I pay more than that since The price in $ and bolivianos is different on line. They didn't listen tot The fact that it is not my responsability but theirs to see their prices match. Eventually i was so tired of arguing about this and payed more... On top of that our room (2-5) was reeking of mould, the bathroom hadn't been thouroughly cleaned in agesages.

This was a great hostel in La Paz. The large lockers in the rooms are great and the location is very good. The hostel has its own bar which sells very reasonably priced food. I would definitely recommend staying here as it's a sociable hostel but it's not a crazy party hostel. Kanoo Tours has an office in the same buildings which is great for booking tours to the salt flats and other places in Bolivia.

As we booked a private room we where booked into the B&B which had no atmosphere and the facilities where all being done up so the sky bar was a mess. You could go to the hostel and use the bar. Drink and food was cheap but not great, over all it was comfy but not the party hostel it promotes.

yeah pretty good hostel, but watch if you book on line... when you pay, they have their own exchange rate.., so when you pay with local currency, you pay more...

Central location and safe stay at the Brew hostel: assistance of staff was really outstanding! In particular I want to thank Fabio, the main receptionist, who was very helpful to welcome, provide advises and introduce me to the city. Thanks to his suggestions I had the best time in La Paz and really enjoyed the city and understood a bit more of the beautiful Bolivian culture.

Bad experience here. Got to reception with confirmation's hardcopy and the difference in cash I was forced to pay was higher than the one shown on my confirmation sheet. Reason given: hostelworld managed a dollar vs boliviano currency exch rate of 7.45 x dollar, while actual rate is 6.95 - I had to pay an unsignificant difference, but got surprised on how unexperienced with guests these people were. It is sold as a beer adventour... free beer is a plastic 100c3 glass. Deadly bar.. sad atmosphere

The hostel has a good mix of quiet and social areas - stay in the B&B building if you want to sleep or the larger building if you want to party. 10-15 minute walk from San Francisco plaza and very close to the bus terminal. Staff were helpful and friendly, especially Fabian who went out of his way to show us round town.

The free beer is about 50ml

Located on a main street, about a ten minute walk from the main square, San Francisco. Beds are comfortable and dorm rooms are large. Hot water very temperamental - nigh on impossible to get a hot shower in the early morning but generally hot water from midday onwards. It's a shame there isn't another social area away from the bar where you can sit without being surrounded by smoke. Free beer is pretty much a shot, not a half pint!

The cleanest hostel in the world!! Everything you need in a quaint small hostel. Netflix was a great touch too. A few blocks from the metro but isn't everything in BA. Nice location in Palermo & good price for the area. Great friendly staff. A little fustrating the wifi dropped about a bit but apart from that I'm glad I stayed there during my time in BA!

We stayed at Adventure Brew for 4 nights, it was pretty good overall. It was clean and the food was good! The all you can eat pancake breakfast is nice but they really need to get some more toppings, maple syrup or lemon wouldn't go astray! Also the free beer was more like a sample.

Two words. Unlimited. Pancakes. Breakfast is sorted. Bar downstairs that's quite happening at night. Food from the bar is actually decent. Staff will help you but not overly enthusiastic. Location is a bit of a walk from everything - about 15 minutes walk. Did I mention unlimited pancakes? If you're over the same old tired South American breakfast then stop reading and book this place already.

The place was okay, but the atmosphere, cleanliness and facilities were petty average. The rooms had a certain stench to them, the wifi was pretty terrible, and the location was pretty bad too compared to other hostels.
