The ground seemed to sink,.I had the same sensation with my bed .The bedroom is dirty. The smell of the hotel is strange. The breakfast is very simple, only bread and coffee, and butter.

First of all the price tha is anounced at the site isnt'n the real one, when i arrived there a have to pay more than it was set by booking by net. I've been in 4 hotels in this trip ( all schedueled by internet) and it happend just in this one!!! Other thing was the very noisy childrens that live there, all mornins wake up us at 6:00 - 6:30 am screaming. I don't know if they were reforming the hotel but it was the most uly house - building in the neigborhood. It is VERY expensive for what it is.

The whole Hotel is very old and could need some more caring. The Linens and everything was clean but I had the feeling, that the bathrooms were not cleaned everyday. My room smelled funny, too. The breakfast is very basic. I liked the fact that there was free water in the lobby and a computer with internet. Nevertheless I am not sure if I would recommend the hotel...

Great location from the tourist points of interest and the subway. The staff was very nice and helpful but I would like a bigger breakfast then just toast.

Very expensive for what you get. Heath & safety are serious issues as there were nails pointing up in the floor. The staff never bothered to fix even after our request. The bathroom was pretty poor, shink was blocked, shower had litle water coming. So we could not shower. Lastly, staff were quite unfriendly and unhelpful.

The hotel was basically OK.There was an a/c,a microwave and a fridge in my room (although I found a cockroach in it when I opened it),which is usually not the case in this price range. However, the windows were stuck and there was central heating - so the first night there was 86 F in the room and I could do nothing but turn the a/c on,which was then running all the night (in winter).I also couldn't explain to the cleaning lady that she shouldn't wake me up each morning.Besides these,it was great.

Tis is not really an hotel but a refuge for travellers on budget in central Washington. If you take it as such, you will have a nice stay. If you expect a real hotel, it will probably deceive you.

I did nit have the reserved room when I arrived to the hotel, and they gave me another one without bathroom, with almost the same rate. It was late and I was new at the city so I had to accept it. It isa pity they do not respect reservations.

had an horrific time, i had booked a 4 bed ensuite which i didnt get, the decor had a lot to be desired for - rundown is what i would call it. poor facilities and it had a pungent smell . we all slept in our clothes as we werent happy with how clean the place was, when i complained of not getting ensuite the guy on reception referred me to the manager in the morning - he completely disregarded me and gave me a minimal discount - would discourage anyone using this placE

We were several clients whom booked a room with an ensuite bathroom whom where told the same daya that they were none available and ended up with a tiny room and a shared bathroom. It should ne mentionned in the site that the reservation of the kind of room the customer wants is uncertain. It is cheating otherwise.

The appearance is rather shocking - v basic and quite run down! However it is relatively clean, not far from city center and staff are friendly. Area is v safe since it's close to a university. Would recommend for a night or 2. Breakfast is immensely basic- with milk powder instead of real milk, and no fruit! However they give you bread butter and cheese spread, and jam + some v watery coffee. Probably i wont return to this hotel but was a good experience overall.

It's a good deal for being in such a great location. The rooms with a private bathroom don't have a fridge or microwave, which is kind of weird because the rooms with shared bathroom include those. Otherwise, it's all right.

There were tons of cockroaches crawling everywhere! We checked out immediately and got our money back.

Excellent location. Do not expect anything spectacular from the rooms - ours was small, really worn out and it didn't look very well maintained either. It wasn't blatantly dirty though, and no bugs or anything of the kind. However, D.C. is expensive to sleep in, and the Lee Allen is a viable budget option only a walk away from the main attractions.

Location is excellent. The hotel is well-cleaned each day and free of undesirable insects. The heaters work. The staff is pleasant and tries to be helpful. The building is not in good repair, though. The exterior is peeling. Inside, there's peeling paint, mildew, and dripping faucets. As far as I can tell, it's mostly a women's shelter with a few clients who thought they were booking a room in a hostel. The price is good for DC so it's okay for someone accustomed to a little urban squalor.

It's a good enough location and a pretty decent place to stay. Clean and pretty safe, it's a decent value.
