A great place to stay if you are looking for a cheap and clean hotel in Washington D.C. The breakfast was very basic (consisted of Toast and Coffee or Tea) but was an ok to start to the day. A very nice surprise was the laundry service they offered $5 for a large bag of washing was a lifesaver. I recommend this hotel

I would recommend Allen Lee based on location, fair price and cleanliness. I stayed in a 1 bedroom en suite (private bath) and was surprised at how clean the room was. Upon arrival the exterior of the building gave the appearance of being run-down and I was concerned. However after checking in and inspecting the room - very pleased. They have a social area but this is not a 'party' atmosphere (which I was happy about). Staff was helpful and friendly and always on site.

location is very convenient and accessible to everything...metro and downtown dc....

The hotel was very good, it has a great location and the services is good. It would be better with a wi fi connection also to the rooms and not only in the entrance all. Anyways the staff was wonderful!

Room: 210 very small room Not dirty, just old hostel. Interiors are old and worn, but cleaned up. Smell a little musty in my room , but enough to be ignored. Linen are very clean and changed everyday. Shared bathroom and shower are extremely clean. Wi-Fi can be used in the lobby and also in my room but very weak signal due to the distance from the lobby. Any bad comments are out of line. I need a table and hangers in my room. I recommend this hostel (not hotel) for cheap tourist.

The first night we were in the hostel our twin double room was pretty narrow and dirty with a bunk bed. The carpet inside was damaged and really old. Then we moved to a double room were the conditions were much better, there was no carpet and the room was more clean. What we have to really admit is that the position is perfect. You can find the bus stop in front of the hostel, the subway is just three blocks walking and the neighborhood is nice and safe.

Location is great. The carpet is very old and not clean. Its very noisy. Ok for one night no more.

There were cock roaches.

We stayed there for three nights and we have to admit that we were surprised, both positive and negative. The hostel itself is in a very bad condition, the rooms are not clean at all, but the bathrooms are surprisingly very good and clean. The location is great, maybe the best we have ever been to. Everything is walking distance and it is a great neighborhood (GW University). However if you want to have fun and not spend much money in DC this is the place to be .

Nothing particularly wrong with this hostel, was happy enough with it. Good value for money as DC can be rather expensive. You can get everywhere on the tube for pretty cheap so no worries :)

You have a hot shower and a decent room. Ours was in the basement. No real character and looks worn, but everything worked (including a TV). The breakfast was nothing special, but free. The staff was in a rush to take down breakfast toward 9:30 am. That and their lack of a hospitable personality makes them lose points. Still, you get a great location. No major complaints - good enough for a couple of nights so you can see DC without worries.
