The signage to find the hostel was very good and useful. The kitchen and decking area are stylish. Th bathroom was good. I would have preferred the dorm to have individual lamps for the beds instead of one main light for the whole room, and an electric socket near to the bed. It was noisy at night (partly die to city centre location) as the window needed to be open for ventilation. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

Great location of the hostel, close to lots of restaurants, shops and public transportation. Nice kitchen and lounge area for the hostel to relax. I was in a 6 bdrm female dorm. It was quiet and the girls were friendly, although I wasn't in the room much. The bathroom was also spacious and had plenty of toilets and showers. There was never a wait. There was also a hair dryer and straightner for the girls to use if needed. The only thing I would definitely change is to have free wifi!!
It was really easy to find. Bathroom facilities were clean. Free wifi was really helpful. The room was a bit warm.
I stayed in a 10 bed mixed dorm, the room had a window and didn't feel cramped. Enough space to but your luggage. My roommates were fairly quiet at night even on the weekend. Bathroom was clean and had enough showers, also a hairdryer and straighteners. Kitchen, deck and chill/tv room were cleaned everyday and most people did their dishes. The deck is a nice bonus so you can have breakfast outside. Would definitely stay there again.
Really sociable hostel with a great big clean kitchen and a toasty machine! 3 common areas in addition to an outside deck area never makes this hostel feel cramped. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and willing to help you with all your queries even if off duty. There is also 3 hours worth of free wifi. The only improvements would be to invest in some non-stick frying pans and have hot chocolate as an option with free tea and coffee.
The Internet provided is far too slow for a modern city with a very high per bed fee. Info given by staff for food was very expensive besides the grocery store.
A very nice hostel, certainly when compared to others in Auckland CBD. Nice feel, chilled out, relatively quiet, clean as well. English girl on reception had a bit of attitude, not massively helpful. Overall a good hostel and would definitely recommend.
Really good hostel. Great kitchen and social area. During our stay everyone was respectful of one another in the dorm, nice and quiet (perfect as we were very jet lagged). Location is great, only stopped here three nights but could have stopped for a week....so much to do in Auckland!

Ra's Alguhl, the intern, is the best. Excellent location. Only suggestion I have would be to organize more social evens (happy hour, bar crawl, clubs), which could be done in conjunction with other hostels if there's a low demand at the Attic.
You don't get a bed number. So you can choose your bed but the employees and the cleaning staff haven't an idea who is staying where and which bed to change etc. So in the morning around ten the cleaners get into the room and ask questions like: did this person leave,is this bed taken etc. And you don't have a clue because you don't know all the people in the room! The organisation is poor.
Good location on Queen Street. Close to bus station and bus for the airport. Kitchen is spacious and well equipped with lots of spices and condiments needed for cooking. Stayed in 6 and 10 bed dorms which were both bright and spacious. I liked that they had a hairdryer and straightner in the girls bathroom.
Clean, friendly, great location, knowledgeable staff. Overall a nice place to spend a few nights.
Really great hostel. Great location, very close to supermarket, bus stops and main shopping area. Staff were really helpful and friendly, especially Becca. Rooms are a great size with comfortable beds. The whole hostel is clean, spacious and modern with great facilities. Would recommend to anyone staying in Auckland and I would stay again.
Amazing place - spotlessly clean, great kitchen. There are a couple of indoor TV rooms and people also hang out in the cosy reception with beanbags, but best is an outdoor deck where it is easy to meet other travellers. Only gripe is that they close the deck at 11pm, but the indoor TV area is open 24 hours. You can drink your own booze in the hostel which is a plus. There are lockers provided for and separate male/female bathrooms. Unfortunately only 3 hours of (bad) free WiFi is provided.
Very clean hostel located in a great area. The staff weren't overly friendly or helpful. They didn't seem interested in helping when I asked for suggestions of what to do. Showers were a bit ridiculous going hot from cold all the time, but that's standard in most hostels. Beds are super comfy! There wasn't any atmosphere, but all up it's was a pretty good hostel. I would stay here again if I came back to Auckland.

This place is in an awesome location and has a super nice kitchen and rooftop terrace, ideal for meeting new people. My only complaints is having to pay for wifi and the slightly unfriendly staff who are quite cliquey and spend most of their time in their PJs
Amazing place, great staff and the cleanliness was by far the best I've seen. Whole place had a great vibe to it as well.
Really awesome place, great vibe and staff. Just a perfect size and you can't beat the location.
