Had such a great time staying at this hotel and was really happy with the choice. right in the heart of Cairo, one couldn't ask for a better location to enjoy the sights, sounds and fun of Cairo. the hotel is one of the cleanest in Cairo and laundry facilities are definitely a blessing.

Very clean, and workers here are very friendly and helpful. It is close to everything. Cairo is very safe. the Australian Hostel took super good care of me. They helped me organizing my trip all around Egypt and everything went very well. Everywhere i went, i felt very safe and there was always someone taking very good care of me. The people here (Ehab, peter and all the others) are just wonderful. I recommend this hostel . Thank you very much

Location is brilliant. The staff are absolutely amazing people. Aslam is the coolest guy under the sun and the Egyptian with the best sense of humour. They will not try and screw you out of your money like so many other people will in Cairo. Only qualms is that if the hostel is full there are not enough showers to go around. Having said that, it's the best value for money hostel I have ever stayed in.

Bathrooms weren't so clean and breakfast was mostly egyptian (pita bread/falafel with beans sauce and salad). My room was givind on the main street, so very noisy

You can't expect five star luxury in a hostel in cairo. But for cairo, this is clean but be careful of the elevator. It does not look safe and the shower quickly spilled over in the bathroom. Not the 96% the site says. Best hostels I've been in are in Japan.

There was a very bad smell in my room (it stunk!), the hostel was not clean and there were no lockers in my dorm. The staff was friendly and helpful though.

As a gang of 4 girls visiting Cairo, we had a reasonably pleasant experience at this hostel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, while the location is very central and easily accessible to all the tourist attractions, etc. The entrance/elevator to the hostel is dingy to say the least, but the rooms themselves were fine. Excellent value for money, particularly if you are paying a short visit to Cairo and want somewhere central and basic to crash for a night or two.

My rating is 100% BUT the only problem here is that on each occasion that we stayed here they did not honour our room reservation for the room that we booked for an ensuite HOWEVER the hostel is great apart from those niggles, the free airport transfer (just make sure you arent charged) was prompt, the hostel is very well located for everything, great cheap Gad restaurant next door, shop selling everything across the road. Staff are great and free internet.

Location is great. But It would be much better if the shared bathrooms are cleaner.

Staff were very helpful and pleasant, the australian hostel was my oasis in bustling downtown cairo and i had a great stay.i'd reccomend there tours aswell because at least then you know you wont get ripped off on any pyramid tours ect like i did haha. overall great place, thanks

I had basically planned to stay at the Australian Hostel for only 4 days and look for an apartment for my 4 weeks stay in Cairo. But I was positively surprised by this hostel in every way. The beds are huge, there is a.c. in every room and most importantly the people who work there are extremely nice to hang out with. The hostel is situated in lively Downtown Cairo but the rooms are quiet and affordable for any budget traveller. I will surely come back here if I travel to Cairo again.

What a great hostel! The location is superb, in the middle of Downtown Cairo, the rooms are clean, airconditioned, fairly priced, the breakfast is nice, but the best are the staff. Very friendly, trustworthy and helpful. When an ATM machine swallowed my bankcard they actually borrowed me 50 Euros until I was able to pick up some money again. They also arranged a good ride for me around the pyramidsites and were willing to assist me with anything. I could recommend this hostel to everyone!
