The hostel is placed in a beautiful old apartment. Except for the smelly bed sheets (which were new, but didn't smell very nice), everything was great.
Cool staff, nice atmosphere, great overall. It looks a biiiiiiiiiit shady when you walk up to it, as construction on the outside of the building is taking place. but once inside its all good. Thanks to all you dudes for helping us when we had no F'en clue how to say anything in russian. Would def recommend.
The Babushka Grand Hostel is the best hostel I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. I spent a month at the hostel and got to know the staff very well. They are an amazing group of people who make you feel like you are at home, despite the fact home is thousands of miles away. The hostel does have a "grand" feel thanks to the architecture of the building and the facilities are very good, including a very spacious common room and full kitchen. I will definitely return to the Babushka!

Really nice and helpful staff!! Really clean bathrooms and generally a great, unique atmosphere!
The location is perfect, few minutes walk from the railway station - so if you arrive late at night with a big backpack that's definataly a plus. I stayed in 10 bed dorm wich is spacious, you don't have this claustrofobic feeling as in some other hostels, beds are comfortable. Staff is definately the higlight of this hostel - Shekhar, Inga and David are bunch of friendly and helpful people, always willing to give you advice and answer all your questions. Thank you guys :)
Small Hostel 10 min walk from town center. Was quite clean but not a great deal of room in the Kitchen/common area when a few people were using these area's. Maybe some Bean bags/cushions could supplement the existing seating. Staff were friendly but had varying levels of knowledge regarding "Tourist type infomation". Perhaps a cheat sheet could be developed that would give the different options available.
