What a wonderful location and place overall. Waking up each day to have breakfast with a view of Table Mountain is something I will sorely miss. Well, that and the cute dog Lenny. This well-run backpackers is staffed with very friendly, helpful and thorough people. Security is excellent and the facilities very amenable. The property is well situated close to everything and just far away enough from seedy Long street. Strongly recommended!

I originally booked a bed in a n 8 bedroom all female dormitory. I was told that the room was full so I was placed in a 2 bedroom on the first floor with a random guy from England. He was very nice and I believe he felt just as awkward as myself, but it would've been nice to be told ahead of time or with another girl instead. All in all though, I was only there to sleep so it wasn't that big of a deal.

I loved this hostel. I returned to it on a workshop trip after visiting six years ago. I stayed in the rhino dorm back then and opted for the private Penguin room this time. Loved them both. The staff here is fantastic, especially Leah, Sethu, Tina and Lucas. They were all a big help with all things Cape Town and provided good conversation as well. During both of my stays it was easy to meet other interesting travelers in the cafe/bar. Great value.

Lovely place to stay when you are in Cape Town. It's close to Long Street, and you have a beautiful view of Table Mountain from the hostel. The staff will help you with planning your days in the area, which is so great! Cosy atmosphere and nice people.

One of the best hostels I've stayed in! The location is perfect - you can walk to all the bars on Long Street in just 5 minutes. The hostel is gorgeous - the rooms are clean and have character. The beds are comfy and the showers are great. The cafe/bar serves drinks and food and has great WiFi. The best part is the staff. They go out of their way to book everything for you. They recommend great restaurants and book all your activities. A fantastic place and highly recommended.

Seriously, one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. From the staff, to cleanliness, the great kitchen, location, and help with bookings and arrangements, this was a terrific Backpackers. The car hire place that you guys work with are also excellent; keep using them for sure. I guess for the sake of balance I should at least try and come up with some suggestions. If possible, it would be good to have more than 1 washing machine available. Thats probably the only negative I can think of.

We just realized that guests were not respecting the midnight threshhold to reduce music and talking. We were woken up every night around midnight because of that. There should be someone from the staff reinforcing that rule. It would be also great to have more food variety to choose from at night for the one's who do not want to go to a restaurant.

You can't change the location but it was very noisy being on an traffic island. Also a bit of 3am am partying. A bit more information on arrival would have helped as we sat in the dark for two days until we found out that the dim light was due to a dimmer switch.(not obvious) Staff very friendly though.

Wonderful stay in a very easy and relaxed athmosphere. Lots of nice people and a wonderful location. Breakfast in the patio with view on the early morning sunlit Table mountain was a dream.

I'd definitely stay there again - was clean, comfortable, secure and well located - a 30-35 minute walk to the waterfront. Staff were helpful. Overall, it was a very positive experience for my as a woman in her forties travelling alone for the first time in years. I had a single room with en suite toilet/shower which was lovely. I slept very well as it was quiet at night. During the day and evenings, there were many interesting people to chat to and whose company I enjoyed.

I really enjoyed staying here. I think if I come back to CT, this would be the place I would stay. Comfy area to have brekafast, and also nice at night to have a beer and mingle with other backpackers. I also really like that there is a kitchen and eating area on the other side. So you can make your own food or just pop up to the cafe and get a nice cup of joe.
