A nice quiet stay, a little out of the way but I was warned before I booked. The staff were friendly enough, I noticed a huge effort was made with the German guests, but not as much with others. The evening dinner was incredible and my morning fruit salad was the best. Beautiful morning view and sunset from the jetty. Despite being out of the way, you have everything you need there to enjoy your stay. Do not stay here if you want raucous nightlife, Krabi is a good 30 mins away.

A little out of the way but Olli and the staff are great! They have a book of activities available that they set up for you to do around the hostel.

It's not direct in Krabi town but if you're not afraid if driving a scooter the perfect place. Around there are lovely beaches where you are mostly alone. The dinner that is served was delicious.

We LOVED the Bananas. It's the perfect place to relax and just enjoy the day. Beautiful spot! Bungalows and common area are very cozy! Food is delicious. Dinner for everyone at 7pm, which is nice to talk and get to know other guests. Owner and stuff very friendly! We rented a motorbike to drive around and explore the beaches, and also did a very nice island-hopping-tour. One of the best hostels we stayed during our RTW-trip. Thank you, Olli!

Fabulous place to stay, so easy to relax and unwind

Olli and his staff at The Bananas are unbelievable....in the greatest way. Not only were the facilities relaxing and inviting but Olli is one of the most friendly and helpful hosts you will meet while traveling abroad anywhere in this great wide world. The way things operate on an honor system, plus the communal dinners really make it feel like a home away from home and also very easy to meet people. It is off the beaten path a ways, but it makes for some great relaxing and some great explori

Bananas is truly paradise! If you are looking for a place in Thailand that has few tourists and opportunities to interact with locals or just to spend time by yourself in a hammock then this is where you should be! They can organize kayaking, island tours, scooter rentals, massages and so on! Other reviews I read described Bananas being far from town or other petty things, but if you read the information that Oli provides beforehand then there should be no confusion about what Bananas is like!

Lovely hostel with friendly staff.

Amazing location! It is a bit out of the way. The bus might drop you off in some random location, but if you go to that pink house, there will be a sign for the bus/truck. And be sure to tell the driver to stop at the bananas since ( for me at least) it popped out of no where. The beaches were amazing with vey nice views. Definitely borrow one of their bikes to explore the little town around the area. And the food was fantastic! Bananas has a lot to offer. I wish I had stayed longer!

Given the wrong accommodation. Told it was correct even when we told them it was wrong. Next day, apology given by the owner, that there had been a mix up and when we said we were not happy, offer of stay in the wrong accommodation, or move to a much more expensive bungalow( and pay the extra )and then if still not happy we could leave as it was not good for him! Ignored by him for the rest of our stay (5 nights) and felt very uncomfortable! Looked for other accommodation but nothing available.

This place was definitely far off the beaten path and felt a little bit too far removed sometimes, but the staff were amazing and the food was great! If you want to really get away from it all, and just be with the other guests that are here, this is the place to stay.

The hostel is in a very secluded location, one of the reviews says it's a 20 min walk from Krabi Town.... NOT TRUE! Krabi town is 35-40 min. away. There are no eateries nearby or attractions near the hostel. They have a sign that says "No outside food or drink" so you are trapped into eating there. The food is real good but expensive and for dinner you don't get to choose what you want to eat. There is no hot water and if you want to do tours it's better to go to a tourist company to save money.

There´s a nice feeling at the Bananas. Did prefer the bungalow over the dorm room in which the noises&voices were a bit of an issue. Also lots of noise made by animals but otherwise very peaceful :) The place is good for relaxing and resting. The owner does his all to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Do realize that swimming isn´t really possible during most of the day. Go find the secret beach they will tell you about!

Excellent place to stay for a relaxed, chill out type break. Quite a distance from Krabi and not really any shops, restaurants etc in close vicinity which only adds to the appeal.

Far from anything.. Wifi didn't work. Everything else is good. The island koh noi Yao better place to relax with beach and relax

Location would be perfect for couples looking to get away, incredible landscape and right next to the beach. However, backpackers looking for somewhere with nightlife and options for food/shops should probably look for somewhere in krabi town. Owner was very friendly and helpful. The wifi was awful even when right next to the router.

We really enjoyed our stay, met our needs for peace and quietness out of the city. Owner, Olli, was very friendly and helpful with any enquiry.

Superb hostel completely different from anything else I've been to in South East Asia- very rare to come across a place like this offering dorm room facilities. The hostels location between karst mountains and the bay is great, and is just a short walk/ bike ride from some deserted beaches. As for the place itself, its a great place to relax for a few days. The communal dinners are really good and Ollie is a great host. The beds and bathrooms are clean and comfortable.
