the owner was very friendly and helpful, the room was good and we were lucky to get an own room instead of a 6 bed. But we were thirsty and there was nothing to drink except alcohol so i think they should get some more drinks and food in the kitchen just in case. And it's pretty far away of the centre, you definitely need a car.

Nice hostel, a house with lots of room, a pool, a useable kitchen and a nice indoor area. Overall a nice place to stay, the location isn't near the beach or shops but you can get there for a few dollars. Ian, the guy who runs it is a nice guy and will help you with anything you need .

It's a great place, one of the few places we liked in MoBay. It is a small hostel where guests and the owners hangout together. It's also a place to socialize for expats in MoBay so every night people would come over and we'd have a few beers and a few laughs by the pool. The only down side is that you need to take a taxi to get anywhere but it is in a nice, wealthy neighborhood. I'd totally recommend it!

This was my 2nd experience with a hostel stay...so now I can make a comparison. The Bird's Nest is a very nice establishment with very friendly staff. The room we stayed in (double bed for 2 persons) was very clean and even had a working air conditioning unit. We would have liked to have a mosquito net for the bed; but strangely enough there weren't any mosquito (maybe the time of year...June). The kitchen was kept clean daily by the staff. The swimming pool was a bonus, as well as wifi.

Ian was an excellent host. Couldn't have asked for a better guy to help us out getting around.
