very nice place, good location, about 2 blocks from the plaza. What makes this place stand out is the staff. They all know my name from the first day, arranges transport for me, and even makes me breakfast to go on days that I have to leave early. It is very quiet, party people prefer the sister hostel around the corner. but I had a nice time here.

Good breakfast, great location in the centre. Security guard for the evenings and a sociable atmosphere. Great if you want to stay close but not in the party sister hostel.

Literally 2 blocks from Parque Central, amazingly convenient, tho every street in Antigua looks exactly the same to me, got lost a couple of times post drinking. Very friendly staff, Guadaloupe especially, with cute babies as well. Free breakfast is also a huge plus, although the shower does take awhile getting hot. This place is not really a drinking hostel and lights out around midnight, so go somewhere else if you want a late night.

It was my 1st stay in my journey. Staff made me feel 'at home' by knowing me by name and be open for the 1000 questions I had and always be prepared for a casual talk. The breakfast is very very good (can choose from 5 options) and so is the rest of the menu. I have slept in the spacy dorm as well as in a private room. Both were as nice as expected. The staff can help you in planning the rest of your trip and has some nice recommendations. Good hostel and parties are close enough if you want to.

Pros- awesome front desk ladies who were very friendly and helpful. Laundry service in the hostel done within a few hours. Food was excellent. Unlike most other hostel breakfasts of bread, jam etc here u choose from a menu with items like bacon and egg bagels, muffins, traditional Guatemalan breakfasts etc. Cons- rooms weren't as clean as we've experienced in other hostels. Could do with some upgrades (bathrooms, curtains for privacy etc)

We always stay at the Black Cat Inn when we visit Guatemala, which is a couple of times per year. The reason we do is because of the staff - they're outstanding: kind, helpful, and enjoyable. We also stay here because of it's great location, which makes it easy to access most local destinations within a few minutes.

The positives, the hostel was centrally located, the breakfast was AMAZING (best breakfast included in hostel accom) and the staff were lovely and helpful, also quite clean. The negative, I booked a 6 bed dorm with ensuite which turned out to actually be a 12 bed dorm - 2 rooms with 6 beds in each, our room didn´t have a full bathroom only toilet and no window in our room. If I had of know this I would have stayed at another hostel in a 12 bed dorm.

The Front Desk staff in the Black Cat could not have been more helpful or friendly. They were truly exceptional, especially Rosario! I love it here - it feels like a home from home. There is a very warm friendly, helpful atmosphere at all times. The location is perfect - just 3 minutes walk from the Parque Central. The staff invariably call me by my name all the time, which is really nice. I could not fault this place in any way. Rooms are basic, but clean and adequate.

The BCI was a great place to stay, but the staff made it an excellent place to stay! Everyone, from the front desk staff, to the cooks and cleaners, to the night watchmen, were helpful, friendly and always smiling. The food surpassed all expectations. I would recommend this spot to anyone!

Everything was good. Good breackfast , service and location. The rooms are big enough , hot water and towels. I will stay there again. It is not far from the central park

Staff is awesome. The roof top alone is worth staying here. It's not a party place, so if you're looking for a chill, nice place this is it. The breakfast was good, too.

We were given a worst room I guess. There were 2 beds, a chair and small bedside table. Nothing to put your staff on, no hooks, nothing. Television had really bad picture. Shower knob was broken, they got night guard to fix it after nine a clock so had to wait for a while. Room smelled mouldy. Place was relatively quiet at night, and some of the breakfast items were excellant, some not. Wasn't very good value for money, would not recommend to stay here.

The Black Cat Inn is a much nicer stay than its hostel counterpart. Particularly in terms of cleaness and mattresses. What´s great about the inn is that the staff are lovely the breakfasts are larger servings and AMAZING! Plus you can just walk over to the Hostel for a party and walk back to the inn for some piece and quite! Thanks so much for all your help and useful info guys!
