Bulldog is one of the finest hostels i've ever stayed first of all. It has own bar, coffeeshop and roof so that you can chill. Rooms are OK and clean. If I go to Amsterdam again, I will stay in Bulldog again.

It´s quite a nice hostel. It is not outstanding though, compared to hostels in other cities. Which doesn´t really matter too much when you are in AMSTERDAM:-) CROWD: I didn´t feel like you could actually get to know a lot of people when you are travelling alone (groups etc.) STAFF: Members of staff were helpful if you had a specific question on schedules etc, not so much if you were just looking for a club that plays a certain kind of music for example. BEDS: Comfortable BREAKFAST: Good

my friend and I stayed at the bull dog and had a great time. It was clean, all the staff was friendly, there were security guards so we felt safe. I hurt my ankle and the staff looked up where I should go to get it looked at and how to get there. The bar/restaurant in the bull dog plays awesome music and you can smoke there also. we had a great stay at the bull dog, we would go back.

I have been traveling around Europe for the last few months and so far this has been the best hostel I've stayed at, for a number of reasons. Firstly, the location is unbeatable, we literally used public transit once. Everything else is within walking distance. Secondly, the hostel itself has great clean rooms, ensuite bathrooms that are cleaned daily, and lockers in the room for each bunk. Downstairs has a lively bar and restaurant, a coffee shop next door, and the free breakfast is awesome.

We rolled into amsterdam around 5:40am and found the hostel around 7. They let us check in early and even let us eat breakfast that day. It really made our day!

I try not to have overly high expectations, but I don't think a little basic courtesy and respect is too much to ask - I don't appreciate people rolling their eyes or getting attitude when I ask a perfectly simple, legitimate question or if I ask someone to repeat themselves because I didn't hear what they said. This happened twice with two different staff members. The rooms are clean and don't reek of weed unlike the rest of the place. Nice manager. Stoner vibe. Tiny lockers. Overpriced.

Cannot have a better location. Staff was fantastic. On-site cat is cool too! One draw back as you may expect is smoke. The bar and lobby are saturated with it much of the time. I don't smoke but after two days all my clothes reeked. If you can tolerate that the Bulldog is fantastic!

A really nice hostel with nice staff and a great lounge bar. A bit disapointed over the room, was little to expensive for the small room for three persons.. so next time we will look for a bigger room. 8/10 toasters

Everything is good. The best I ever stayed in my 23days trip. Staff is very helpful and nice. Free wifi and Free breakfast are really good. The breakfast exceeds my expectation. Besides this, the location is perfect. Exactly located in Centre, and red light district Lastly, the room is quite spacious. Extremely value for money.

Perfect place for Amsterdam partiers. By the main street, tons of food places, sex clubs, coffee shops, the red light district, and within walking distance of museums and nightclubs. At the same time super safe, they have a bouncer at the door making sure no guys come in who don't belong at the hostel, which is nice as a female traveler.
