I did not get much sleep on the Saturday night as the music was "pumping" until 3.00 am on Sunday morning. I did not know that you could buy earplug at reception until I saw these on Monday morning as I booked out. My room appeared to be above the bar area. A pity.

Booked a 4 bed dorm, arrived and they said there had been a system failure so we were in an 8 bed dorm, but they had discounted it for us, a discount that we worked out to be just the price of what the room should have been. Free wifi might as well have been no wifi as it never worked. On checking out we were questioned as to whether we'd actually paid or not.

Small and stuffy. No windows oh aircon. Doors make lots of noise and so does the bar next door. Not social. Go to the YHA.

Generally really good. Hotel-style room was clean, well-serviced, but a little pokey. Felt it probably wasn't quite worth $90/night. Well located near open-late restaurants and supermarket at the end of Courtney Place. The overall atmosphere is great, and the staff are friendly. The wifi sucks (typical of NZ!), and the kitchen is far too small and has too little food prep space. Also, you have to hire or BYO cups, plates, utensils.I will stay here again when I next visit though!

The entrance is not so easy to fined because on the Main Street address you only see a bar.

This place was brilliant except for noise. Horrible night's sleeping due to selfish and really immature drunk boarders who couldn't give any consideration for other sleepers or fellow tenants. Seemed to be an endemic problem from the noise coming from rooms to room. Not a suitable hostel for a maturer backpacker. Clean, central, lovely and modern but full of drunks. Not stayed in a hostel like it anywhere in world. Real shame as place is everything you want but if you can't sleep....

Nice place except you had to walk from the communal kitchen to reception every time you needed a knife , fork, plate or cup. None were supplied in the kitchen which, I found a little odd.

Hostel within a hotel. Good rooms, more than enough showers. You have to rent your plates, cutlery etc. Biggest downside was the fact that a lot of people stay there for months and don't really care about being nice of clean. But overall good stay

It is what it is, budget accommodation at a budget price. Staff were great and the location, being just around the corner from Countney Place, means I will be back again.

I LOVED the bathroom space. Very clean and large/open area. You have to 'rent' your dishes which I didn't know about until after I started cooking. You get your money back when you return the dishes. The staff were helpful. The location is good but I'd suggest parking the car in one spot and not moving it if you can. Just walk places. I also liked that you needed key cards to get into/out of the rooms. I would stay here again.

Pretty nice spot right in the heart of Wellington. Feels like a real hotel (is one) but bottom floor is designated for backpackers. No complaints, but it isn't the most social environment. Although I didn't hit the in-house bar the night that I was there. Great cheap breakfasts!

Extremely friendly reception staff and a very clean and nice set of bathrooms a plenty to choose from. He kitchen is nice it has everything a traveler needs and its caddy corner to the theatre where the premier of hobbit took place.

The hostel was great! Perfect location, right off of Courtenay Place. The hostel pub was lots of fun, cheap food and we met quite a bit of locals there! The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathrooms were spotless and some of the nicest bathrooms I've seen in a hostel. They also held our bags while we were out in the city, which was great. Definitely recommend this hostel!
