The cavenagh is not as bad as the reviews show. We stayed there twice (august and october). But you have to be lucky with your room. Our first room was dirty and the aircon was very loud (broken?) so we asked if we could move room. The girl at the reception was very nice and it was no problem!!! Pool is great! Kitchen average.
Negative: We wanted to extand our stay and were promised to get a bed but had to wait two more days to book. then it was full! finally we could stay - unnecessary shock!!The cavenagh is not as bad as the reviews show. In this big hostel, I can't believe there is only one working washing mache. That means 90% of the washing machines are not working. There is lots of water on the floor in the laundry room. Had a great time in the cav good pool and bar. Stayed in a 6 bed dorm was alot more cramped than the 4 bed dorms we seen that were the same price! Had a tv in the corner that u couldnt see not that we needed it!The fridge in the room had food that was one month out of date!! mysterious brown marks on the walls and I don't think the room was ever hovered so much dirt and rubbish under the bed belongin to no one in the room!They are clearly making money so should employ some decent cleaners!!!Had a great time in the cav good pool and bar.
