The staff was helpful. Hostel had a pleasant and lovely atmosphere of the 50's. I can recommend hostel for couples, this is not hostel for partying

We didn't actually stay here because of a double booking. But the owner was really nice and sorted out another hotel just around the corner, even with a slight upgrade to the room. So I can say that the customer service is excellent, and next time we will definitely try to stay at the Cecil Guesthouse.

its not a hostel. its not a hotel. somewhere in between... no kitchen facilities but a useful fridge and microwave.. dorm rooms.. a good mix of people backpackers, familys and couples, a social common area with ping pong and little old pool table.. really friendly staff not that clued up on local knowledge but tried to help all the same and it is the effort that counts :) basic accommodation in a good location

That was a highly enjoyable stay during the week and I liked every moment. The atmosphere of an old building was charming; the staff was was friendly and helpful. I'll definitely be staying in this hostel next time I visit Blue Mountains. The only wish is that the paper towels and tissues are replenished more often in the bathroom on the 1st floor.
