Rick, the guy who owns the hostel, is super nice. He came and got us from the subway station and walked us to the hostel. The Closest is SUPER clean on the inside and has an electronic lock on the door, so you have to know the code to get in. The neighborhood is quite, except for some early morning sounds that didn't last long (like a feral cat cat calling in the wee morning hours). A little bit smaller than some hostels, but AWESOME for the price and really, really nice and quaint.

Great hostel to stay at; close to airport light rail. Owner plans to open a new hostel... I will be watching for that since he has some good ideas for it. Beds have privacy curtains and are more comfortable "western" style. VERY clean facility!

If you're looking for a hostel that's easy to get to from the train or airport, is near the subway, feels homey,&has the best hostel owner in Seoul, go here. Rick is honestly 1 of the best people we met (stayed at 5 hostels in 4 weeks, so take that however). He will take you to great places to eat, call people for you, speaks fluent English, has researched,&knows what travelers need. He's got a great vision & a heart for this line of work. The hostel is clean, cozy, convenient,&comfortable. GO.

I stayed there for three days. The hostel is clean, quiet and very well-located. The mattress is very comfortable that I could have good sleep every night. The owner, Rick, is very helpful and nice and easy to talk to. Definitely will stay again if I visit seoul again.

It is a calm hostel, small, safe, close to many pubs, restaurants, godd clubs, shops and subway. The bed is very comfortable with small curtains to privacy. The hostel has laundry, regular breakfast and free towels.

Its a very small hostel and therefore very personal. The location in the university area is great. The rooms are ok and very clean, i had the single room. The best thing about the hostel is its owner Rick. He is very nice and helps in every possible way. He looked online for a new camera for me, searched for tickets to an e-game, gave advice about everything. The concierge of a 5 star hotel cannot give a better service!

Wonderful hostel, very clean and modern. The host really made me feel at home. In a nice quiet neighborhood, very close to the subway station (about a 2 minute walk), and close to Hongdae for good nightlife you want that (about a 10 minute walk). However still in a residential district so noise is not an issue. Had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone!

This hostel is a few min walk away from the Hongik Univ Station so it is very convenient for travelers who wish to travel around Seoul via subway. It's somewhat small but kept VERY clean. Rick was one of the most helpful hostel owners we've met during our travels throughout Asia. Not only did he provide a safe and comfortable hostel experience, he was also very helpful when it came to aiding us plan our tour of Seoul with detailed maps, directions, and tips. I'd definitely stay here again!

This hostel is really wonderful. Small, good to meet other people and Rick, the owner, is kind, helpful and does a good job at keeping the place clean and tidy! Each bed has its own curtain which is something I have not seen before in a hostel but is a great idea. Breakfast is tasty and the shower is hot. Not much else you can really ask for! The only problem about giving a good review is that next time I want to stay here it will probably be fully booked! :)

The Closest Hostel is very accessible as it is only a 2 minute walk from Hongik Metro Station (which is also one of the stops on the Airport Express Train/AREX). The hostel is located in the Hongdae district, which is known for it's restaurants, bars, coffee shops, night clubs and general youthful feel. Rick the hostel owner is overly helpful in recommendations, and keeps the place in a very clean and tidy state. This hostel is in my mind the only place you need when visiting Seoul!

I travelled alone, I think this is a great little hostel, excellent location, just 5 mins to walk between hostel and metro, the owner is very nice and helpful, he does his best to consider what you need. The bed is the one I felt the best to compare with I stayed in Bussan's and Jeju Island's hostel. If I go to Seoul next time, I must choose this hostel again and thank you your(the owner) help during I stayed in Seoul!! Highly recommend!!!

This a great hostel to stay in-- very close to the metro and right in the heart of Hongdae. Even though this hostel is close to bars and clubs, the immediate area is residential (good for sleeping!). Also, the owner is wonderful! Rick is very helpful and goes out of his way to make sure you have everything you need. I live in Korea and stayed for a weekend getaway but Rick made it feel like a true vacation! p.s. Very clean, comfortable beds, and delicious breakfast toast from Paris Baguette!
