I really enjoyed my stay at The Corkman Hostel. It was in a great location, close to the CBD and Victoria markets and also Lygon street. I liked it's size, not too big and everyone was very friendly. Price is reasonable too. Also spent some time in the bar downstairs. Best parma in Melbourne. Cheap drinks too. Defo worth checking out.

The best thing about this place was the location - very close to the queen victoria markets, and walking distance to the city centre and close to trams. Overall, though, the place was run-down and untidy, and considering the price, was quite disappointing. Long-term guests in the room were very messy. Wouldn't reccommend this place, pretty ghetto compared to the beautiful city surrounding it.

It wasn't awful, i just expected more for the price. The french manager is a nice guy and he does make an effort but unfortunately the facilties are basic and dated. Something makes a horrendous intermittent noise too.

Had a great stay, small, friendly hostel in a excellent location. Pub downstairs does a cracking pint of Guinness too.

Definetly go back if im back in Melbourne. Small hostel so you get to know the people your living with. No problems! Felt comfortable & able to sleep at night with no noise..:D

Clean, friendly and quiet hostel. I stayed in the 8-bed female dorm which was great- clean, comfortable and great storage space. Three bathrooms meant I didn't have to wait for a shower. Location is also convenient, several tram lines close by means getting into the CBD is really quick. As the hostel it is situated on top of a pub one night I went downstairs for dinner and a drink, but for cooking, the Queen Victoria market is just down the road. Had a pleasant stay, would come back for sure.
