Had a very enjoyable stay here! Like others have said, it's a bit out of Yangshuo town but I liked being away from the crowds/noise. Only about 20 min walk, and if you go along the river its pretty nice! But the hostel itself was pretty quiet and people did keep to themselves, so maybe not for the social butterflies. But the staff were really friendly and helpful, the food was amazing and the beds were super comfortable! Would definitely stay again if in Yangshuo. Thank you so much!
You must know that the path back to the hostel from the city centre is pitch black for about 1/3 mile. I've been told that girls have been insulted down this path at night. The hostel has torches but the receptionist failed to inform me about this path beforehand and didn't mention the torches till after we had to endure this experience.
The hostel was great but it is a little far away from Yangsuo. It you have a lot of time this is your choice.
What a wonderful place to stay! The rooms were clean, quiet and both the food and wifi were great. However, it was the staff that really made our stay-- everyone was incredibly friendly and gave great advice without trying to hard-sell anything. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
Very helpful, dedicated and patient staff who speak fluent English. Their suggestions were spot on, and the food on offer is delicious. The location, although a short walk from the town centre, is one of the most beautiful settings to wake up to and kick back in.
Nice location, about a 1.5km walk from the Yangshuo crazyness. Very friendly staff, with great day-trip suggestions (some of them much better than what's in the Lonely Planet). Cheap bicycle and motor scooter rentals. Food and drinks were expensive by China standards, but cheap by Yangshuo standards. I found the vibe to be a bit quieter and less social than Trippers Carpe Diem (which is right next door), but top-notch hostel in any case.
Quiet but not muh advantage otherwise as tours generally mean going back to Yangshou as well as dinner, etc. Garden useless in summer.
I can't say I was overly impressed with my stay at the Cosy Garden. While the hostel was quite nice, it was quite a way out from the town. The staff would often ignore you and they weren't particularly friendly or helpful when they did speak to me. I would suggest going down the road to their sister hostel Carpe Diem. Most things were cheaper there and the staff were much nicer. Be aware that they offer pick up on the "directions" page and then charge you for it when you arrive.
Very nice hostel although the English level of Chinese staff could be better sometimes...
Just a little outside the overcrowded center of Yangshuo, the Cozy Garden offers a laid-back atmosphere. Staff is extremely helpful in recommending and booking excursions such as bamboo rides etc. Everybody very friendly and everything very well organized. Bikes for rent. Best hostel we stayed at so far.
Comfortable beds and helpful staff. Its difficult to find the first time because its outside of the city, but its a nice quiet, relaxing location.
very friendly and helpfull staf!
Staff is very helpfull
Great hostel! Staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a whole list of things you can do around Yangshuo and they helped us with planning our bicycle tour. The hostel itself has a nice garden and is located outside the stress of the city. Clean and beautiful rooms.
I really enjoyed my stay at Cosy Garden. It is a bit away from town, but renting a bike is easy and cheap and it takes only about ten minutes to get to west street, a nice little bike ride. The hostel is located in very calm and beautiful surroundings, and the staff is really helpful and always smiling. Also the restaurant has really good food and drinks. It is a perfect place to stay if you want to get away from the stress of west street and enjoy the dazzling countryside, very relaxing.

Very nice staff! Always very helpful and willing to give you advice on what to do and see around yangshuo. Good location in the outskirts of town. Great spot as a base camp for many activities around yangshuo
Located bit futher out of center city, about half an hour walk, but on the way there's nice swimming spots. Place is really calm and peaceful, nothing stressful hassling of the center. Owner is really enthusiastic and will give you best escape places and staff is kind and sweet. For eating, portions are big. Though they could be smaller and cheaper. Good place for have a rest.
Beautiful room, amazing view, friendly and helpful. Food was quite good as well!
A nice retreat from the city, if you are riding a bike be sure to have a flash light for the return trip at night. The staff provided info to a secluded spot on the Li River excellent for swimming, even with the cruises venturing up the river the suggested area was unpopulated and clean.
