This hostel is the best I have stayed in since i travel Colombia! The breakfast, the staff and the rooms are perfect. The hostel is really close to tourist sights like the gold museum or the lift to Montserrate!

The Crancky croc was a excellent place to stay in Bogota. Everything was clean, staff is very friendly (especially Catalina!) good decent beds and nice comfy warm blankets which are a must in Bogota. Only little bad point is that when I came in most people where behind a screen (laptop, cell). This happened multiple times during my 2 day stay. Not sure if it's the problem of the facebook generation, maybe it was because alot of people were leaving or maybe it's the layout of the living space.

Great hostel, very well located (with a French bakery, good restaurants and bars really close), very friendly staff, I already stayed there two years ago and it was even nicer (greater facilities) this time! Best hostel possible in la Candelaria and in Bogota !!

A friendly vibe and clean rooms make this hostel a solid option in La Candelaria. I would stay again just for the super hot showers and generally clean and usable shower/bathroom situation. The front desk staff is helpful and knowledgeable.

This is a tale of two hostels. I'm reviewing only my experience. The room where I was put was in another building where a bunch of junk had been piled (wood, beanbag chairs, pieces of metal) and it was in bad shape. No space here to describe. Not good. The Good: Common area was rusticly nice with lots of wood. On day two of my stay I met some people and I saw their rooms. They were gorgeous. Bright. Clean. Views. Location of hostel is central. If you get a different room things will be better.

Only had a night here, but it seemed convenient to most places people wanted to go in Bogota.

The place is nice. The rooms are ok, not too fancy. The bathrooms have just been renovated and are really clean and comfy. The common area is nice but I experienced better atmosphere in other hostals. Take a jumper with you because the nights might be cold. Anyway, nice hostal with a good price range.

Cranky Croc is a great hostel, the staff are fantastic and very helpful. The only bad thing is the location, from a security standpoint. The area where the hostel is located is called La Candelaria and is extremely dangerous, especially at night. People will get mugged right out front of the hostel, despite there being security cameras. Stay in large groups and never travel alone at night.

Abrilliant beds, showers and food. Staff try their best and good location. The common space could be more comfortable and blocked off from outside elements a bit more as Bogota is cold! Hot showers and fruit breakfast are ace.

Staff and location is great! Right around the corner from bars and restaurants and not a long walk to Plaza Bolivar and Monserrate. Facility is clean but rooms are small and construction going on, BUT BATHROOMS ARE AMAZING! *If you go to Monserrate, take the funicular or cable car- 6 people staying at our hostel that tried to walk up to the top were mugged. Don't carry a big camera with you up there- you'll be a target.

The good: big lockers with outlets, beds with lights, hooks, and outlets, nice showers, owner knows a lot (though isn't always around), computers. The bad: common room is hard wooden tables/chairs, not comfortable; very cold; one 6-dorm has very poor WiFi and NO DOOR, so it's loud, insecure and basically open-air; staff were ill-informed: one hadn't heard of tierradentro, another knew nothing about tours advertised in the hostel. The best thing in Bogota, grafitti tour, wasn't mentioned here.

Very nice and clean hostel. Good atmosphere of people starting and ending their travels, there's always someone to have a drink with. Clean beds with good mattresses, very clean bathrooms and toilets, helpful staff. We wanted to come back at the end of our trip, but then it was booked out.

Excellent hostel. Very helpful staff, huge comfortable beds that are made daily, excellent hot showers, good social area, many activities, fast wifi including in rooms. Really outstanding hostel, one of the best I've stayed in South America
