Great hostel with nice facilities. Restaurant available on site so you can get breakfast, dinner and/or coffee for a small fee. Laundry is available also for a competitive fee. Rooms are great, all off street so no outside noise. Wifi is great, and there is a good chill area. There is a ton of information available so you can make good decisions about what to do while in Bogota. Highly recommend!

Cranky Croc is a great hostel with a perfect location in Candaleria. Staff are really friendly and most speak some English. Dorm rooms were some of the nicest i've stayed in...clean, comfortable, fresh towels every day, big lockers. Met some really cool people. Would highly recommend it.

Two words-HOT WATER! This is the ONLY hostel I have found in Colombia with rockin´ hot water showers. Cleaning staff was so sweet. Jesus and the dark haired girl were friendly, helpful, and great. The light haired, Laura (I think) not so much as I could never even get her to make eye contact. Guests were varied, interesting, and fun. Location is in the middle of everything you need to access. We would have stayed longer but they had the privates we needed booked up. Reserve early.

One of the best hostels that I have been in South America. Amazing facilities and great tourist information. No much to complain about it except probably the fact that, at the time when I went , there was no hot water in the shower and none of the staff member were particularly interested to explain why. Apart from that.......I had a great time, strongly recommend.

Hostel in a good location with a good kitchen. However, I would not recommend staying there, simply because the private rooms are located on the bottom floor, right between the common area and the kitchen area. This meant very little sleep as it was very noisy until very late (even after everyone at gone out partying, the staff left the music on very loud until the the early hours). Also, curiously the staff on the second night decided to clean the kitchen (very loudly) at 12.30am. Stupid.

Really nice breakfasts and dinners, not too expensive! The beds were comfortable with proper duvets. The TV room was great with a good selection of films, but they should light the fire in there - this never happened when I was there! Overall a really nice hostel though, and the owner was friendly and happy to help.

The Cranky Croc was one of the best hostels I've stayed at--the layout provides for a communal atmosphere, and the kitchen provides everything you need to cook a meal. The staff were all friendly and helpful, organizing weekend events and providing information on the city. I would absolutely return to Cranky Croc.

Fantastic hostel! Such crazy people - one man in particular stands out: Barry! Honestly give his infamous 'Bogota Banging Van Ride' a chance, the people behind reception will help you book it. Make sure you ask for the van with windows as the other group got a pretty rough deal it seems. Definitely take your passport - you literally have no idea where you will end up! Thanks a lot Bazza, the tattoo's no longer infected and serves as an involuntary reminder to our shenanigans! Ciao xx

A la carte breakfast was good, and love that they serve until late (after 1pm if I remember right). Individual lockers with plugs for charging the toys is good too... fits your whole backpack too if you want. Open-air breezeway in the middle of the hostel can be troublesome when it's pouring, which is often. Big social areas. Good info from staff, but the tours they do went out late both nights and were a bit disorganized in my opinion, so it takes away from the time you're actually AT the bars.
