Showers and toilets were cleaned once a day at best. Toilet seats/floors covered in refuse and showers were muddy. Staff were rude, obnoxious and disinterested. On Sunday morning we had a morning flight, so wanted to sleep on Saturday night. But staff/guests kept music at a loud volume until 7am - earplugs were of no use - and then a drill started at 8am. Horrible final night. The private rooms are tiny for the price. Otherwise, good location in Bogota, with lots of bars and restaurants nearby.

The female receptionists do not understand English, don't even attempt to. The area at night is one of the worst I've ever seen. EVERYTHING is closed and it's very dangerous (I'm 6'4 and 240 lbs and had guys trying to rob me twice) there is no party here, no atmosphere at all. Stay away from this place, chip in the extra 20 bucks and get a place close to Zona Rosa (partying and safe). I'm REALLY disappointed w hostelworld for this one and hope they investigate the high rating of this place

Excellent value. Large alluring building with thick walls so good for sleeping unlike some other hostels in la candalaria. All the facilities in excellent condition. Sociable yet not a party hostel. Prime location. Helpful and friendly staff. Only complaint would be the wi-fi was a little patchy, however there were multiple high quality pcs for $1 ? per hour. Impressive operation.

Somewhat difficult to find; however, once there the hostel is delightful and the staff is extremely helpful. Any questions can be answered in English if your Spanish fails you. The hostel is very secure, although the neighbourhood can be a little worrying after dark. Good enough to go back for our last few days in Colombia.

The layout of the rooms and common areas is a bit strange (e.g. access to the 4 person dorm is via the 8 person one), the hostel is a bit worn out, but it is clean, the location is excellent, and the staff very friendly and helpful. The lockers are huge (they fit a whole backpack!) and have built-in power sockets. The big kitchen and big TV room were hardly used when I was there. The nice sitting room/patio is where people gather in the evenings. All in all not a bad choice.

A great hostel which has loads of facilities and a good atmosphere. The location (La Candaleria) isn't great, especially at night, but most of the hostels in Bogota are in this area

I loved how they had electrical outlets in the lockers. Very handy! The only complaint was that one night there was not hot water in the upstairs bathroom. The shower in the lower level had hot water, but I didn't think to ask!! Overall an excellent place to stay!

Comfy though creaky dorm beds, huge lockers with power outlet inside, great staff, especially alex, huge kitchen, good location, only complaint really would be having to pay for internet (wifi is free) especially given it didn't allow audible skype calls.
