Good place. Dorms were lacking a bit of air so I switched to a single. Other wise a good location and seems safe enough if you follow normal street smarts when getting to or leaving the Croc. A fun crown often develops at night in the common area and some good travel stories changed hands around the fire. A good time was had washed down with a few cold beers from the bar. It would be nice if they shared the washer and dryer with the guests but I guess there's not enough machines to go around.

Very well run hostel in a great location. Very clean dorms and bathrooms, nice common area. Having power sockets inside lockers is so useful, no idea why other hostels don't have them!

I cannot understand the great reviews of this hostel. The lady on reception was exceptionally unhelpful, even though there were only 2 people ahead of us in the line it took over an hour to check in. She also gave us no help in planning activities, places to eat, bars to go to etc. The average age of the people staying in the hostel was about 60 years old; it is not a good place to meet people and is not sociable at all.

Good: Location is better than other hostels because it is close to historic district AND commercial district. Toilets/showers are clean and upgraded. Staff is friendly and helpful. Bad: Bogotá can be chilly at night rooms are not heated. Many fruit flies during my stay. Wifi was down because they forgot to pay the bill. Even: iGringo is not a scam, but a scheme. Local guys get together charge 30k ($25) pp. A bus takes you to the club and back. Clubs are good, but guides get drunk on your $$.

Excellent place, nice host and you may find party people..

The staff were super friendly and acommodating when I asked to check in early. The showers and bathrooms were extremely clean and the 4 bed dorm was spacious. The actual building is really cool. Only complaint is the fridge wasn´t working.

Great place! Nice location and fantastic staff. The owner has been super kind and helpful. It felt like home after 1 day. Loved it !

Nice, cosy and friendly hostel. Easy to meet people. Bathrooms are really nice. Across the road form a great Mongolian restaurant. You have to pay for breakfast though.

hostel with great facilities, confortable beds and great showers and toilets. The green eyes girl that works at the repection is extremely beatiful and helpful =)

Really only good things to say about this place. They know how to provide a great environment for travelers, and they've got just enough activities to keep you busy. Best hostel shower I've ever seen.

Some of the staff I met were very helpful and kind.

Fantastic facilities!

Good hostel. Unfortunately the staff were not friendly and not very helpful. The showers were hot and the duvets thick which was needed in cold bogota.

Very comfortable hostel with good beds (that were even made while staying at the hostel several nights), lockers with electricity sockets, best WiFi connection I've seen in Colombia, and a great location two blocks from the gold museum in La Candelaria. Definitely recommend the Cranky Croc!

The hostel is perfectly located if you want to be in the heart of la Candalebria, very close to all the museums (de l'oro, Botero, ...). The showers are the best I had in Colombia, the toilet were the cleanest, the 4-bed dorms are big enough, with nice lockers with power inside, very convenient :-) I found the staff quite helpfull too! Only minus is I found the common room a bit cold and not super cosy, but I would definitely recommend this place if you want to stay in the heart of things!
