The hostel is still partly under construction, but you can tell in time that it will be an awesome place to crash. Bedding was brand new which was excellent. The breakfast is amazing, good selection of food and fruit! I liked the vibe of the breakfast room a lot. The wifi wasn't the best, and you could only access it from the reception or the bar area. Location of the hostel was great, walking distance to heaps of cool places, the tube and buses.

Kitchen was being redone and smelled of drying paint. Made it difficult to spend any time there without getting a headache. Room was ok and the facilities kept at a minimum standard.

Great place! The location was prime for bars in the area (dinner type food was a little harder to find other than Mexican and Vietnamese). It was a little rowdy outside, but usually closing the window would shut out the noise. About a 5 minute walk from the hostel was the Old Street tube station. There was an awesome bar and upcoming coffee shop embedded in the hostel (super convenient), but the wifi only worked in those places and the reception area. Super friendly staff at the hostel and bar

Beware, it's above a nightclub. Awesome if you've come to party but irritating if you need to be up early and want to sleep. Friday/Saturday nights you cannot access the reception without going outside onto the street, along a bit and then back in. Room was very drafty, could see to service area bellow through holes in the floor.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Dictionary, the atmosphere was great and I really like the style of the hostel. The staff were so friendly, and everywhere was clean and bright. My only complaint is that the room next to us was occupied by a group of very rowdy guys who made noise from about 4am when they got in until about 10am when I left the hostel. I know it's meant to be a student hostel but the noise these men were making was really ridiculous Otherwise, I would definitely stay here again.

I think that they were in the middle of renovations. I was expecting a different kind of set-up and a cleaner environment. I think that this hostel is great for people in their early 20's looking to party.

Room I was in was very loud (right next to a very busy street), and you couldn't close the window becouse you'd suffocate otherwise. Besides that Hostel was very nice, staff helpful, beds clean.

Staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and the kitchen is very well-furnished. Despite there were some enovation going on, I think it's a very good hostel.

We had a great stay at the Dictionary Hostel!. The hostel had lots of character and a great bar downstairs to socialise. A few things, the hostel was a little hard to find especially at night due to the signs being a little too small and the bathrooms are tiny. Renovations were also occurring during our stay, but once they are finished they will be a great addition to a already well run hostel. Did I mention the location! Great for eating out and bar hopping. Would recommend!

Spent 3 nights in a 10-bed dorm. Liked that the Hostel is new. Unfortunately, the kitchen wasn't working for 1 night. We weren't aware that the bar underneath the Hostel isn't JUST for the hostel-this made for a loud weekend. The bar music was LOUD until 3am and were right above it. I felt that was a bit inconsiderate. Breakfast was alright. Construction workers were rude and loud. Shoreditch is great for party animals, but far from London sights. WiFi was pretty bad. No common area. Overall:Ok.

Great location but it is very loud because the bar the hostel runs is right next to the rooms. The staff has good advice for seeing London, and the neighborhood it's in is very cool.

This hostel will be great when the renovations are finished. Decent location and the staff were always helpful. Price is a bit steep but for the location and considering the rest of western europe is expensive anyway i was really happy with this hostel.

Very cool area of town, right in shoreditch and ten minutes from the east end. The hostel itaelf is nothing too special, but the staff are super nice and helpful if you are trying to find things to do. For a super busy area at night, the hostel does a good job of making you feel age

The staff were really nice and the other people staying at the hostel were great as well. It was my first time staying in a hostel and I couldn't be happier with the experience.
