This was our first hostel and it was great, really enjoyed our stay here. the staff was great, and the area head lots of restaurants and bars. only complaint was that the wifi connection was poor and was only available in the reception and bar area.

I need to make clear that they were improving the facilities while I stayed, and was awared when made reservation. It seems to be a hostel with a promising future!

We enjoyed our two night stay. The rooms are big and the beds are clean and comfortable. The atmosphere down in the pub is great, especially at night, great music. The complementary breakfast was decent. The only downside is the 10-15 min walk to the nearest underground station, but for what you pay this is not a deal breaker.

Had great few days at The dictionary hostel. Location is great for pub crawling and as well for exploring the city (10 minutes walk to the tube). Staff is great, breakfast is excelent, rooms are clean and the bar below hosts great nights on weekends. Wifi only works in the bar and reception, except if you stay in first floor.

Great stuff, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us! :)

Great hostel that literally couldn't be in a better location for Shoreditch - right at Kingsland Road crossroads! Few minutes walk to Liverpool Street, Old street, and Shoreditch High Street overground. Good breakfast of croissants and Brick Lane Bagels, clean dorms with good lockable baskets under the beds. Bar serves tasty beer, with discount if you're staying - though there's a million places in shoreditch, so explore as well!

It's in a great location for Shireditch and Hoxton. The staff were friendly and when all the building work is finished I'm sure it'll be a great place to stay.

- a bit far from a tube station - breakfast very simple and not lovely at all (Beagles and jam, yogurt, coffee) - no water in the morning (later only cold water to take a shower) - shower and toilets are not clean - poor wifi only at reception (no wifi in the upper floors!) - check-out 10am is very early

The hostel has a bar downstair that is open for the public. The music is very loud everyday until 2 am and we can hear in the room. There is no social area other than the bar, so to use the wifi you must go downstair, but you are allowed to use it only until 9pm what is too early for who is travelling and want to plan the next day. The reception has wifi but there is no seats. The only place to eat is the bar, but you can't take your drinks and food over. Just terrible, don't recommend it.

It was good enough just because I just stayed for 1 night. It would be nicer if you stay longer.

Having been told off for using this word by Rebecca on reception, I think it only fitting to use it here: A.M.A.Z.E.B.A.L.L.S. Honestly, it's the first word that comes to mind. Great hostel, comfy beds, rooms are spacious (I stayed in the 4 bed), and good showers. The communal area - Translate - has a great vibe to it too. Kitchen is a little small so the (free) breakfast can be a bit crowded but still I really recommend it. By far the best hostel in the big smoke, and it's in Shoreditch. Winner

The hostel was very clean and very comfortable. We were in a ten-person room, didn't feel like we were sleeping with that many strangers. And lucky for us we had a room with a window which let in a lot of light from the street so no one woke each other up with the light during the night. The rooms are over a bar with a very chill vibe. The neighborhood is right by Liverpool Station, with bus stops everywhere. Lots of pubs to go to close by. Definitely recommend this place!

The shower down the metal stair case to the right, as you go up the main staircase was cold and didn't have anywhere to hang clothes or towel. Clothes got soaked. Each bed would be good with its own little light, as to see anything in the morning you had to turn on the main light and wake everyone up. I was trying to sleep and the main light was glaring in my face right above my bed. Overall though I really enjoyed my stay & the beds were comfy!!

Cheap place to stay. Beds were comfy. Showers and toilets were not clean, but not the worse I've seen either.

The hostel was very good. It is new and clean, the beds are comfortable and the shower works fine. Breakfast is good also. But I don't know if I was unlucky, but I didn't have any interaction with other people while there. The common room is boring and everyone just sits there in their laptops and phones. The bar wasn't open, there was no music, just a very serious atmosphere. But if you are not traveling alone, as I was, it is a great hostel.

The breakfast was AMAZING and the bar has a lovely chilled atmosphere in the morning. The location is really handy. It was as trendy as any Shoreditch-goer could hope for. It WAS still a work in progress, basement floor and outdoor garden off-limits. The bar was thumping-loud on a saturday night, with lights out upstairs, so nowhere to go. No bunk-side lights. No privacy curtains, and a broken bathroom in an explicitly ensuite dorm. Charm *almost* compensated for lack of top hostel facilities..

Good location (lots of bars) but far from the center. There's a bar downstairs that you can hear up into the rooms so if you want quiet this isnt the place for you, but didnt bother me at all. Staff is EXTREMELY nice. Rooms were decent, just the area given to secure your stuff is like a cage so you can see everything inside which kind of defeats the purpose. and i did find a bug on my bed but it wasnt anything to worry about, no bed bugs or anything. overall it was good, i would recommend.
