This hostel could potentiall be very nice. Its quite new, I think, and lot of things still don't work perfectly, like the lounge area is drab, the kitchen part small, and the bathroom door didn't lock properly. Having the shower cubicle in the dorm area makes it very humid, and the cubicle is SO small its hard to get changed in it. Staff were helpful and knowledgable about the area, but they need to work in the character and atmospeare. Big plus on nice coffee though in the mornings.

The hostel is nice in general. The breakfast is poor. And there is only one big light in the room, it would be nice to also have small personal light.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Dictionary Shoreditch. The guys were very friendly and helpful with any questions. We all felt very comfortable. The locality is also good, because you are able to reach the next tube station "Liverpool Street" in about ten minutes by foot. Many thanks!

This place feels like a bunch of young Australian guys have a share house and are renting beds out to earn a bit of extra cash. It's entertaining to watch the staff flirting with all the good looking people. If you like couch surfing you'll like this place - its got a similar feel. If your a serious sight see-er give it a miss - the music is really quite loud on weekends and reception relies on google for most questions.

The bathroom was small and constantly wet and there was only one for a room of 12 people. There were few good places to change (one toilet on the floor; one bathroom per room and the bathroom lacked hooks or places to keep your clothing dry). This hostel seems like it will be good, but they need to make some improvements (ways to keep your clothes dry when showering; more toilets; etc).

lovely hostel in great location with great staff. our stay was good and thoroughly enjoyed London. my only personal issue was that i booked and thought i was paying for a private ensuite like advertised and confirmed, but this was not the case as i don't think there were any rooms with ensuites, just the shared toilets and showers, so i was a little disappointed with this and would have probably booked elswhere if I'd of known in the first place.

Great hostel to stay at. It is located in the heart of shoreditch and there are many options for bars, restaurants, and clubs. Love the atmosphere of the hostel and the staff were very helpful in whatever questions I had for them. It is also at least a 10 minute walk to old street station (northern Line) and there are many options that you could take to central london too. However I didn't like the options for breakfast though and there was no wifi in the rooms except in the reception area.

Very nice hostel. I loved the neighbourhood! The building was pretty neat and the staff very helpful. I like the exposed brick. I had a good pint of cider at the bar downstairs. There was a fire alarm at 2 in the morning and it woke me up but hey, that's what hostel life is, right?

The Dictionary Hostel was amazing! Clean facilities, free wifi, and free breakfast! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hostel is perfectly located in the heart of Shoreditch and is walking distance from tons of cool bars, clubs, and cafes. What more could you ask for? Ill definitely be staying here again on my next visit to London!!

Could not fault our stay at the Dictionary. Location is ideal for Shoreditch/Hoxton and easy to get to from the tube. Rooms were clean and secure and the bar was great. Will definitely return next time we visit London

This hostel was great! The staff is amazing, and so helpful. They will research things for you if need be, and give you suggestions of things to do (touristy and non-touristy). It is very clean, and quiet--you can hear noise from the street, but it is not bad. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The location is in a young, up and coming part of town. It is a bit out of th city center, but the bus picks up right outside. The only downside was for a lone traveler, it was not the most social.

Although it has a lot of character, the security for excess baggage is a bit weak, a set of shelves behind the check-in desk, rather than a locked storage room. The location is great (for the few days I was there), Shoreditch (from what I've been told) is a great spot to go out. The staff was welcoming and reasonably knowledgeable about the surrounding area/the large city that is London. The atmosphere was nice as well, with the bar acting as a common area, the bartenders were amiable and helpfu
