nice and clean hostel, with very polite and friendly staff. would highly recommend staying here if need a place in London, tube station isn't far from here and plenty of mini shops and eating places around.

NO WATER IN THE MORNING, impossible to take a shower either days of our stay!
Great staff, they are more than willing to help you with any questions you have! Shoreditch is ideal if your looking for a youthful night out! Highly recommended!
Did not realise there was work being done on the hostel so everything was dusty and noisy especially in the morning. Would have been a great experience if the hostel was finished.
It is my first stay in London and I didn´t even know anything about the area, but it´s really nice! The Dictionary is a wonderful hip hostel with a kitchen where you can have your breakfast, a bar and facilities to have a coffee. The staff was great, helping and friendly! I really enjoyed my stay and hopefully will check in again soon :-)
Fantastic location near loads of great bars and clubs (and public transit), fantastic vibes, really cool people. All around great place. Our only complaint - if the staff is reading this review - is that the toilet in room P was leaking under the floor tiles, which was incredibly unfortunate; however, knowing the very helpful staff, I'm sure they'll have this fixed in no time. I'll definitely come back here.
I feel like this hostel isn't ready to receive visitors. Some places are still in renovation and we can see the workers outside our rooms. They start working in the morning which is quiet annoying. There is no mirror in the room and that is unacceptable in my opinion. The kitchen is not big enough. The wall of the room is so thin that we can hear clearly others' talking outside. Location is in the East End of London where is fulled of bars and pubs, so there are lots of drinking people around.
Good points: breakfirst's good, bed's are good, good athmosphere. bad points: shower gives you water when it wants to, lot of noise, it is kind of expensive knowing that the hostel is still in construction.
Improve cleanliness, less espace and excessive noisy
I stayed here for 3 nights in the 12-bed-room and 18-bed-room. The space per person is a bit small, however they have well-equipped kitchen! Just bring your food and make what you want! Besides, the staffs are all very kind and useful, thank you!!!
It was hard to find the hostel as there was no name on the building or door. The bar cross the road sevre drinks till very late that's a bonus. The rooms are very hot so hard to sleep. The people at the hostel very nice if your traveling on your own easy to meet people. The staff are very cool two. If your looking for a party hostel this is great fun. If you want a quiet night this hostel won't be for you but all in all ok hostel.
I didn't like the dictionary, but ok, it's personal, maybe somebody has loved... For me, 32/35 Punds p/ day is too much for the service offered in the dictionary. The rooms are ok about clean and space, but would be better. I stayded 4 days in London, in the summer, with high temperatures and was very hard to sleep because of hot weather. The showers, I don't no why, don't work sometimes. The kitchen is too small and unconfortable. And about staff, they are polite all the time, not friendly.
I really liked staying at this hostel. Good location, friendly/helpful staff, very clean and good vibes. I would recommend it to anyone visiting London. The only downfall was the fact that the room to my dorm didn't lock and the staff weren't able to do anything to fix it.
Very friendly and helpful! thanks.

Amazing area, feel in love with Shoreditch with so many amazing Cafes, restaurants and bars. Bathrooms are tiny, no towels and very noisy if you have a room facing the street as opposite 2 bars with a bar downstairs. Also was renovating at the time. No aircon so for the heat wave was hot. But that being said would strongly recommend this hostel as it is what you need a bed to sleep on in a great location :)
I had to put 'Excellent' in every part of the review, since it really was that good!! Great location, amazing and helpful staff 24h a day and simply the best atmosphere. I wasn't even bothered by the fact there was still lots of renovation going on in the hostel since it really made up for it in so many other aspects. Made so many new friends and will definitely be coming here the next time I'm in London!! One thing though, maybe stay somewhere else if you wish to sleep, this is a party place.
A really good option to stay in London. The 12 bed dorm was very very spacious but the 16 bed dorm was quite tight but still good. There was a heat wave during our visit so it was very very hot but air conditioners can't be expected in London! Delicious breakfast compared to other hostels with muesli and muffins. Current renovations can be a bit annoying at times but a minor inconvenience needed to make a better hostel. Check-in is a bit slow but in general good atmosphere.
Looking for a place to stay/sleep (quietly) for cheap, you might want to consider elsewhere. I stayed in a 16 bed-mixed dorm room. There were no curtains or individual lights for the beds, so people turned on the main lights a lot. It was also very noisy since the hostel's bar area is within the hostel downstairs. Also, the hostel is undergoing construction so it's quite messy everywhere. It's good if you want to meet others and stay up til the early morning hours. Otherwise, can't recommend it.
Really cool place in the centre of Shoreditch. One for younger backpackers wanting to meet other people and go out in the surrounding area
I thought the place was pretty dynamite. Great pub downstairs with discounted beers for hostellers. Only just a short walk to the tube. Not assigned beds, which caused some confusion but overall not a big deal. I definitely plan on coming back my next time through London.
