The Hostel should add a common kitchen area for visitors to use, just like in many other hostels. A stove, pots, pans, dishes, and a refrigerator. Here there is none. The menu is limited, making long stays boring to be eating the same thing every day. A beautiful place to stay tho, and very close to the beach. (50m) A very LONG wait in line at checkout (20 mins).. But was sorted quickly when it was our turn... Please speed up!! Friendly staff!
Amazing hostel to hang out in, which you'll need if staying in palomino where there isn't a real city to do anything other than then the beach. Downfall was the WiFi wasn't working for a few days because of its secluded location which made lounging less inviting. You're still hours away from some of tayrona ' s famous beaches and 2 hours from Santa marta. I'd stay here the night before trekking to the lost city or right after as long as you bring your bags to the entrance of ciudad perdida.
I loved the whole atmosphere of the place. Not only it's facilities are nice, comfortable and inviting, the staff is very professional and friendly. They are willing to help out when needed and with great attitude. It's location close the beach gives you the option of a chilled night in the hostel or the party night in Palomino. I got to meet really cool people in a multicultural atmosphere. Even the owner was making sure we were happy! A bit pricey, but worth it.
I really loved the Dreamer – I booked for 7 days but ended up staying 17. The staff were really nice, the rooms clean, the beach beautiful, and the pool was great to cool off. This place is owned and run by italians – so the pizza and the pastas at the restaurant are great. It could be even better if the deck chairs around the pool were comfortable (they’re not) and if the music were a bit more relaxed during the day and during dinner – for those hours, it was a bit too clubby.
We stayed at the dreamers during christmas. It was a good choice for the holidays. Overall we enjoyed our time very much. We stayed Most of the time by the pool. The food at the restaurant was delicious. We would definitely go back!
Really nice staff! Very helpfull! Really nice hostel!
Just do not change anything ! This is heaven on Earth, with the most wonderful staff ever. Super, great Job, keep it up !
Great location, relaxed atmosphere, seems more to be a hotel than a hostel :). Little bit expensive but worth the money.

Highly recommended! 50 meters to the amazing beach, a pool in the center of the beautiful garden, a beach volleyball field and a pool table. The perfect place to chill out! The staff was really nice and helpful, ask them for "tubing" on the close by river, it's amazing! Remember to take enough cash, the next atm is about 25 minutes away by mototaxi. The hostel accepts Credit card, but for activities and stuff, you'll need some cash!
The atmosphere is too "gringo", and although I understand that most of their clients are foreigners, they should try to show a little bit more of local customs. In the bar the music is always british or American, is a shame because if you want to hear vallenato or typical music it is not possible. The guys at the bar are not locals, so they just play their music regardless of whether there are local tourists.

Pool area is pretty epic and the upstairs outdoor kitchen and tv area is great. About 5km from downtown Santa Marta but there are cheap colectivos all the time and if youre heading to Tayrona, Palomino etc. its super easy to catch the bus from Dreamer. Giant supermarket 5 mins away too.
The hostel is really great, staff is extremly friendly the atmosphere is great, it is next to the beach and with Swimmingpool. .so everything you need. The only thing what is missing is a kitchen. I would definitely come here again ;)
I stayed at both the Santa Marta and Palomino locations. I might even like the Palomino one a bit more -- private path to the beach, great pool, awesome bar/food. The location itself is also just very beautiful. Was a great respite after our trek to Cabo de la Vela/Punta Gallinas.
The staff at the Dreamer are super cool and the food is incredible. The common areas are set up beautifully, with hammocks, a great pool, pool table and comfortable lounge areas. It's a 2 minute walk to a beautiful beach and is generally a fantastic place to chill for a week. I would highly recommend to anyone to stay here. Great happy hour specials, and great social atmosphere, yet you can also have plenty of relaxing, peaceful time if you need it. Fantastic place to stay!!
This place was awesome. Good atmosphere, great food, close to the beach, pool, tubing, awesome place to relax - man, I wanted to stay here longer.
This was the best hostel (resort?) we stayed at on our trip to Colombia. nice attentive staff, excellent location, very good restaurant and big swimming pool. Palomino beach is amazing and travellers to this region shoud not miss it.
If you are looking for a hostel to do nothing but lay by the water than this is a great hostel. If you are looking to hike in the nearby parks, all the advertised trips are actually based out of their Santa Marta Hostel. I tried to book a trip though them and got fed a couple of different stories over a 15 hour period and in the end not getting to do the trip I wanted, and wasting a half a day doing nothing. If you are looking for a base for Trayona, its about 2 hours from the entrance.
Great Hostel, very good breakfast, great staff and big common area. Place to stay in Santa Marta recommended 100%
Loved this Hostel!!! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, everything at The Dreamer was wonderful, but the absolute best thing was the staff and of course the patrons Fulvio and Esther were also great. They were always friendly, helpful, and smiling, and they made our time at The Dreamer feel like visiting really great, fun friends. The food was excellent and it had a great atmosphere. Great location for those trekking to Parque Tayrona, Minca and even the "Lost City"
