It was a great experience, being colombian and kind of knowing the gentrification issues that the region is facing i think you should hired just colombian staff, even better if the people is from Palomino or Santa Marta.

Place was fantastic! Social stuff most nights, friendly staff, right next to the beach. Do the tubing! But make sure you get a group. Some fun Rapids and then very chilled. It's a bit of a walk from drop off point to water entry. Turn right when you come to a river! Bit more expensive then other places but you certainly get what you pay for. Internet is annoying as it logs you out after an hour and then you have to re log in however the quality is good! Would stay again!

Thanks so much for the friendly, welcoming nature of the staff :-) P.S it would be lovely if the dacari cocktails are made with fresh fruit, Colombia has so much and it is so cheap!

We absolutely loved our stay at the dreamer! The food was awesome and the pool was the cleanest we have seen in South America.

I stayed at Santa Marta and Palomino locations, loved both. the Palomino one has private path to the beach, great pool, awesome bar/food, just very beautiful. The time at Dreamers was a great respite after our treks to Losc city and Tyrona.

We stayed at the Dreamer Hostel in Palomino for 3 days, 2 nights. We opted for one of the private rooms, which is a little on the pricey side, but totally worth it for the tranquility and privacy, if you're into that kind of thing, which I am. The staff was incredibly hospitable and knowledgeable about local activities and getting around. While there are several other hostels right near the Dreamer, the Dreamer is by far the most popular, and a great place to meet other backpackers.

Perfect place to stay, great food, clean rooms, nice pool. The pizzas a little down the road from the wood fired oven are better than the ones in the hostel though.

Booked in here for 3 days ended up staying for a week, its basically a resort but for hostel prices. Food is great and staff are super helpful. Had a great atmosphere and if you want to carry on the party the beach is 2 minutes walk. best hostel in Colombia for me so far.

I stayed twice on The dreamer during my trip to La Guajira. The area is amazing and beautiful. Less crowded than other places nearby but with a great vibe. The staff are cool and very helpful people who will be eager to help you out planning your next stop. Is great to know we have a top level hostel in this beautiful country!

Great hostel, nice swimming pool, good food (the jugo naturales are awesome). It's close to the beach and a great place to relax for a couple of days. Not much to do, but if you get bored you can go tubing or on day trips to tayrona or so.

Definitely one of the best hostels we've ever stayed at, and we've stayed in a lot of hostels. Feels like a resort for backpackers. The staff were lovely and helpful, we accidentally showed up a day early (oops! Travelling does make you lose track of the days though) and although they were booked, they recommended us some other hostels nearby to check out for the night and invited us to use their bar and chill out there if we wanted to. The rooms are really well kept, it's amazing!

We stayed for 2 nights and it was lovely. The pizza is amazing! Great value for money you feel as if you are in a resort not a hostel and the pool is dreamy.

We definitely had a good time here! Nice, relaxed atmosphere, good food and enough space to hang aroud. Bring enough time though, the staff and kitchen need it.

Everything is perfect. Except the closing of the bar at 12 pm

Really cool hostel. Swimming pool and beach are great. The dorm room was large and cleaned regularly. It gets fairly hot without AC though. The bar was cool with nice food and drink. The breakfast is good but overpriced. You work off a tab in the dreamer and with nothing really around locally it can become expensive for the average backpacker.

Really great Hostel and fantastic spot to chill and relax either on way further north or on way back.Spacious Clean Dorms, helpful friendly staff, great B'fast which comes st a fee,as do lunch and dinner but well worth the money, short walk to the beach if you are tired of chilling next to clean blue pool.I highly recommend this hostel. I would however recommend that Dreamer hostel provides a suitable kitchen for those who would prefer to cook and do something about the ever present begging dogs.
