It is a little bit of a hike up the hill, but the view from the balcony is worth it. The school right next door is noisy from about 6:30 or 7:00 a.m., but for early risers it is no problem. The food here was the best we had in Kandy. For 550 per person the cook makes an amazing rice and curry with numerous sides. Highly recommended. The manager/owner will call a three wheeler for those who don't want to walk, and can arrange tours around the area.

The Drop Inn is an excellent place to discover Kandy! In a walking distance The Temple of the Tooth and the city orThe Pub for a beer and a meal. A very friendly staf helps you: Herbert advises also if you want of the beaten track. The Drop Inn has a cosy atmophere and fresh rooms with everything you need. A good breakfast is included and served on a terras with a good view on the city and the big Boeddha on the mountain!

The view from the terrace was really nice, but the man who runs the place was too pushy (friendly but would not leave us alone for 1 second, literally, and was trying to sell excursions etc.). The place was ok, however it is not (easy) walking distance, we payed 400 RS for a tuk-tuk, called by the owner, to the bus station...

The hostel is in a good location, fairly close to Kandy Lake. The rooms are clean. My only complaint is that I could not connect to the Internet when the description states 'free wifi'.
