It's a nice enough hostel, really cheap for Jamaica (Kingston especially) and we generally enjoyed our time there. The rooms are individually placed around the backyard, there's mangoes growing free everywhere, the owner (Oliver) is really friendly and nice (so are his sons for that matter) and the location is great (uptown, very safe, really close to lots of things like markets, etc) kitchen is ok (shared with the family), cleanliness is a bit meh (but still ok) but it's missing some character.

The Durham is a hostel that provides a very homely atmosphere.I felt comfortable and well looked after. I had the luxury of travelling to various parts of Kingston alone. The moderate hostel prices made my week stay more enjoyable and I used the excess funds to purchase meals and souvenirs. The mango, coconut and Ackee trees in the back yard facilitated a true Caribbean feeling. More attention must be paid in keeping the hostel sparkling clean at all times as this is extremely important.

Don't expect hot water for shower. Also, some may find the location a bit sketchy and far from the downtown area.
