We stayed at Durham just for one night before our flight. We had a nice room in the garden with a shower under the tree! - that was a great experience. The room and the bathroom were clean. It's about 25' walking from Bob Marley Museum, safe neighbourhood. Staff was helpful, they gave as a ride to the airport for 30USD.
Booked a single room, but it turned out to be a cabin in the garden, stayed one night and left. The cabin did have a mosquito net to be fair but that wasn't what I expected, so I left and fortunately someone on Airbnb saved the day. Choppy WiFi but staff were friendly.
The Durham had a great vibe, I met some cool people there and enjoyed my time while I stayed (one night). Sitting out back was lovely with a large social area, and a bar area to hang out at. The place, linen, bed and kitchen were clean. The bed was comfortable. The place is quite basic (perhaps why it's the cheapest), my room had very thin walls and was roughly constructed - so I could hear everything that happened in the house. I managed to sleep with earplugs though.
Too many non-guests coming and going, some with unfavorable attitudes. Staff is generally good but seem rather pretentious at times. Would be easy to make the place a lot better, but requires doing something different. Safety definitely needs to improve to make guests more comfortable.
