A friendly, helpful, welcoming staff. A clean and well equipped kitchen. Even had free tea and coffee making facilities in each room. For those not wishing to self-cater there was good pub food just 2 miles down the road. The bar at The Eagles was well stocked and had a good choice of single malts, ales and a great atmosphere.

Great accommodation above a lovely pub in a picturesque village. We stayed only one night but the rooms and bathrooms were lovely. Also the pub had a great cosy atmosphere perfect for a pint after a long day.

We had no heating in the room, and there was no Wi-fi access as advertised, due to the bar being closed. This was a dissappointment.

We stayed 2 nights at The Eagles. Our twin room was heated, had a bunk bed, a sink, plus a cupboard and some drawers. The communal kitchen was very well appointed. There was only 1 bathroom available during our stay, but was not a problem. The other 2 bathrooms were being re-tiled. The bathroom was nice, clean and heated. There is a bar on the ground floor the hostel open Wed - Sun. The Eagles is located about 10mins from Betws-y-Coed, so a car is a good idea.

A lovely guest house tucked away in a tiny cute village just outside Betws-y-Coed. The owner was very welcoming, and with access to a big kitchen, a lovely bathroom, showers and bar, we felt very well catered for for such a reasonable price

The Eagles was a wonderful place to stay. It's not in a city though if that's what you're looking for. It's in a tiny little town just outside Betws-y-coed, on a road out into the mountains, which is just what we were looking for. It's right over a pub but there were 4 people in there on a friday night so it's nothing to worry about. The owners were kind and very sweet. Also, the kitchen was just redone. The whole place was tidy and clean and I would love to stay there again!

Good accomodation, great showers. Disappointed that they did not do food in the pub as there is nowhere else in the village to eat.

Friendly people room and bathrooms clean. Location is excellent if you are driving though there did seem to be a bus service that ran past the front door. Full kitchen facility so you can cook at the hostel if you want otherwise it's a bit of a drive to betws-y-coed for restaurants and shops. Overall great hostel and would stay again

I would recommend highly the Eagles hostel. The facilities were great, rooms very spacious with the duvet covers already on the beds - complete with tea and coffee making facilities (with biscuits !) Bathroom luxurious and Kitchen excellently stocked. The bar is great to visit with very welcoming staff and locals.

Excellent value for money, especially if travelling with a group of friends. Liked the location as it was within a small village rather than in a town buzzing with tourists, perfect for spending a quiet weekend in Snowdonia. Having your own transport would be an advantage to access this hostel.

What a lovely place to stay! So restful and nice to have a private room. I was a bit confused about how to get to Penmachno initially, it would have been nice if we had known in advance that it was about four miles from the train station. The bus stop is very convenient to the Eagles, but it does not run very often, so check the schedule! Everything was very clean and well-organized, and Gerry was very welcoming.
