The Fort Boutique Hostel in York was the most amazing Hostel I've ever stayed in - optimal location in the heart of York, comfortable beds, very friendly staff and super delicious food served on the roof top terrace at Kennedy's just by the hostel for a 20% discount. Very trendy and stylish - definitely to be recommended!!

Stag room was cramped - too many beds,no room for luggage. There is a lift, but it obviously is always out or order & never worksw according to other comments. I would never stay here if that room was the only option. The staff is brillant & couldn't be more helpful

Great location, directions are spot on. The food in the bar next door is great. No free breakfast. I stayed in a mixed 6 bed dorm & the beds and ensuite were amazing! York is so beautiful to walk around. Enjoy

Lovely room, great to have tea/coffee making in the kitchen, and well located. Unfortunately the bed was a little small for my husband; the night we arrived there was loud music until midnight in the bar downstairs; the cleaners talking woke us up in the mornings; and the last night the other guests were really noisy most of the night! So don't go if you need peace and quiet.

Was a lovely room and in the perfect location! My only suggestion would be to have a mirror in the room :]

We stayed in the 'photo room' which didn't have a door on the bathroom. It was probably meant to make the shower sexy, but it isn't that romantic hearing your partner going to the toilet behind just a curtain. Unfortunately there are no other toilets that you can use in the hostel. Very noisy as the nightclub is next door but the hostel provides free earplugs. Also free wifi/coffee/biscuits. Great location - right in the middle of the old town, and only a very short walk from the train station.

This was my first time using Hostel World. The beds were clean but the room was filthy. Blinds really dusty floor dusty, shower not cleaned to a standard I would have expected and the plug hole drained the water away very slowly hence when it did eventually drain it left a scum on the top which was really slippery . I didn't complain at the time as I was only staying 3 nights On a more positive note the staff were fantastic and couldn't have been more accommodating first class service!!, O

Unbeatable location, in the heart of the town! Beautifully decorated and very clean! The staff works in the restaurant next door and the don't pay you much attention, although they are nice. Excellent facilities and very comfortable beds!!

Beautiful and clean rooms. Again like what others said, its loud at night because Kennedy is a club therefore the loud music. Not too good for light sleepers.

Very nice accommodation very central to York’s main shops and sites. Only possible down side is that if you go on a week end as I did the bar can be a bit noisy nothing I carnt sleep threw but if you were a light sleeper could be a little disturbing. Wasn’t a problem for me as I was in the bar

A really great hostel (hotel). Centrally located in York. Great and solid beds, nice room-standard, and a BIG plus for free coffee, tea, internet and towels. The English breakfast is higly recommended. the onsly downside was that we only got two keys for seven persons. All guests should have their own key.
