Great hostel. Perfect location, walk out the door straight into the Shambles at the centre of York. I stayed in the 'Superior 6 bed Mixed dorm Ensuite', and it was like staying in a self-serviced apartment except that there were bunk beds in the bedroom! Inside the 'dorm' there was a kitchen (stove, fridge, washing machine (free to use) and utensils, free tea, coffee and biscuits). Then there was a nice big lounge and TV. York is busy at night, so bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.

The best hostel I've stayed in UK! The pub below also offers delicious food!! Perfect location within the city walls, very clean and the staff is really nice and helpful. Highly recommended!

I loved my stay at the Fort Hostel in York. It was perfectly situated in the core of downtown York, surrounded by small cobbled streets tea and sweet shops. The room its self was spacious, it had a lot of character with wooden beam ceilings and a great view out across the chimneys. The Kitchen was fully equipped with everything and the bathroom was also in great condition! The staff that worked at Kennedy's were amazingly friendly and patient with all my questions and concerns.

The basic color is black in this hostel which is not bright at all. It's just beside a pub which is a bit noisy during the night. Facilities are good, wood bed, shower gel, body lotion, kitchenware, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk, biscuits。。。

Very well located and perfectly clean! But the kitchen is very small and not very practical, there's not really any room to eat, and it's a bit noisy at nights, because of the bar downstairs (but it's still very endurable).

amazing location, great place. 20% off of the restaurant adjacent. to be honest, I can't really fault it at all. 6 beds in a room, we were 4 and fortunately didn't have to share but can imagine it being a pain if we did. there is also coffee making facilities and a computer and tv room. honestly, EXCELLENT

What a fantastic hostel. It is so adorable for the price. Free internet access (rare in UK hostels) and it is in a gorgeous part of town, close to food (pub next door with entertainment), sights, markets, train, everything. The staff are lovely and the hostel was so cool. Styled really cool and great facilities. Recommend York and Fort Boutique to anyone.

This hostel was amazing, almost like staying in a hotel room but with other people. The room was very comfortable and clean with modern facilities. No flip flops required in the bathroom! Very central location, with a nice common area with tea, coffee, juice, biscuits always available. Great stay.

Right in the centre, really nice!! Good way to meet people in the little kitchen. Shower was so great after a string of the usual crappy hostel showers! Would definitely stay here again!
