The Funk House is quite a cool place to stay, and we really enjoyed our nice and clean room (#20), which definetly was an improvement to other hostels in Sydney were we stayed before. Only the bathrooms had been a real mess; we had to check out early on Sunday (~8am), and at 7am the showers were still quite filthy.. like restrooms of a club on a saturday night :/...

The mattress really really needed replacing being far worse than the average hostel, and the showers needed more hooks or benches on which to place clothing. Also a few more cereal and spread options for breakfast would have been nice. The double bed rooms were of a good size, and the room was quite, very good location in terms of proximity to the station and Kings cross night life. I would recommend a 1 night stay but not more than 2 due to the uncomfortable beds and lack of wireless internet.

Pretty ok hostel, nothing really special. Free breakfast was not more than some cheap bread and butter or jam, but that's fine for backpackers I guess. No free wifi, only free internet on the computers. People at the reception were friendly and helpfull.
