I stayed here in January, and there were some seedy-looking people that were also staying here. The hostel itself was extremely cold in all the rooms. I had to ask the front desk to turn the heat on in my room (apparently it isn't expected that people will want a heated room in January). The radiator in my room did not work very well, and was off significantly more than it was on. I had to use the bedding of 2 other beds to stay warm at night. It was really loud too, with all the buses outside.

I found all the staff very helpful and friendly. I really liked the vibe in the hostel. It isnt the most modern hostel but i would stay here again, the location is ideal and it has a very easy going atmosphere. Thank you galway city hostel for a lovely stay

It is a very nice hostel with a grea location. One thing which was kind of weird was that the staff play really loud heavy metal music until 11 o clock at night.

No problems with the room, or being female sharing with 3 guys... but having to traipse around, down stairs, and through hostel reception to get to the toilet and showers was not good. The kitchen and common area was small, so only about 10 people could fit in comfortably at one time. The free internet, and breakfast were good. Location is good - though there's very little to see or do in Galway city itself - but I would not recommend it if you've got a car to park.

I had an amazing experience at Galway City, especially since I traveled solo. Staff was EXTREMELY helpful and friendly and the code to the dorms changed every day and you buzzed in for security. It was right across from the train and the bus and only a two minute walk to the main shopping/bar scene. Would definitely stay here again.

This place was super friendly to stay in and the people working there were really chill. Met a lot of cool people by staying at this hostel and was the best one of our trip!

Hostel itself was pretty good, but it was a bit noisy at night and one of the people staying in our room was inconsiderate and drunk. He definitely disrupted our night.

We thought that the hostel was the brick building that is shown in the picture, but it is actually around the corner from that... So that was kind of deceiving, but overall we thought it was a good place. We liked that each room had a key code to enter, but the bunks were exceptionally small. The free coffee and tea and breakfast was great for us.

We stayed in Ireland for a little over a week, and had the opprotunity to stay at several different hostels. We were extremely fortunate to come across the Galway City Hostel and stay there for two nights. It was everything we wanted and needed from a hostel. FREE TEA AND INTERNET, good people, good times.

Nice hostel, excellent location, very good for a short stay in Galway. Has free wi-fi and breakfast; rooms are a bit small and dim but if you don't plan to stay for more than a couple of days you should be fine.

Excellent place to stay for the money. Few female toilets and showers but didn't seem to be a problem. Kitchen is nice but VERY small. Only 1 or 2 cooks at most. Staff very friendly and place very safe. Would stay here again. Close to everything in Galway.
