This is the best hostel I have stayed at yet! I had such a blast-the staff is extremely helpful and wonderful to spend time with. I truly felt like I was a part of the gang when I left. It was a hard place to leave. :)

One of our favorite hostel experiences - especially Wally the dog! Great, helpful staff, perfect location, not too difficult to get to - although it is appropriately removed, situated up in the mountains. Incredible view of the High Tatras from our room window. I could spend a whole week here.

This place was the highlight of my month in Europe, the staff do a great job acting as a catalyst for social interaction amoung the guests, even making us introverts feel like a part of the group. Can't recommened it enough.

We absolutely loved our time at the Ginger Monkey. Ended up staying for longer than expected cause we didnt want to leave. Dan (the manager) is unbelievably helpful and makes the hostel a really great place to be by organising things to do together. Really cute, cosy hostel and a great place to get out of the city with the most amazing veiw of the Zdiar mountains. Would love to go back again!

We enjoyed our stay very much. We visited Ginger Monkey as a couple and stayed in the double room on the first floor. The room was very comfortable and cozy. The possibility to make a tea/coffee in the room was a nice luxury. The only problem was the temperature changes in the room at the night time because of the poor heating. It was too cold for us. It\'s highly recommended to be well equipped with winter clothes and an additional blanket.

A vacation from our vacation. Staying at the Ginger Monkey was probably one of my best hostel experiences to date. The staff were excellent, including Wally the dog, they had great suggestions and was an overall great place to hang out and relax. The location could not have been better. It felt more like home than anything. Big kitchen and living room, plus nice outdoor deck. Would definitely come back and recommend to all my friends!

What can I say other than this hostel was the best! Awesome staff! Dan is such a lovely host and Ian made the effort to take us to see a local band at the ski village! We wish we could have stayed a lot longer! Great atmosphere, 1 euro beer in the fridge, Wally the dog and Kevin the cat are lovely! The breakfast was great and the views from the front of the porch are amazing! Would definately go back, thanks again guys! Meg and Elena x

A great place to hang out and relax! If I would have had more time... But I guess I will be back sometime later this year for hiking in the beautiful mountains. And Wally is a really cute one :)

Very nice place to stay, surrounded by the perfect natural beauty of Zdiar. Rental of hockey sticks and skates, snowboards and snow clothes (besides others) is quite nice, and the huge amount of movies to watch is very good too. I hope to come back there one day.

It saddens me to leave. I had a great time, meet great people, had fun everyday (Skiing/Snowboarding). The only place i can fault the hostel is the poorish Internet (Im addicted btw). But that might not be the hostels fault, prob the ISP's.

This is the best hostel I have ever stayed in (and I've stayed in alot of hostels!). The staff were so welcoming and this hostel felt like home. We didn't want to leave and we ended up extending our stay for twice what we had planned. The village is so beautiful and the Rustica Pizza's are amazing! Super cheap, super dobry! I miss Kevin and Wally already... Nothing bad to say about this place.

one of the best hostels i've stayed in. amazing backpackers atmosphere (with just the right amount of calculated rowdiness), cosy common room, beautiful location, good value for money, and the most amazing hostel dog.
