The staff were amazing and really made my stay, but the hostel bedrooms were not that clean and the kitchen shuts at 8pm which is quite early if you are out all day and want to cook some dinner when you get back

I wasn't able to stay due to not having a foreign passport. Which they informed me of prior. I feel your website should have expressed this before a purchase was made. Thank you.

We expected much more from the Globe since it was in every travel guide, but it was in a bad shape and dirty. The staff was ok and it was fun to hang out in the TV room, but I would't want to stay there again.

Unfortunately Globe Backpackers has to be the worst hostel I have ever stayed in, not just during my stay in Australia but throughout my world travels. Luckily or unluckily I only have 312 characters left so all I will say is do not stay at this hostel. The conditions are disgusting both in the rooms and the bathrooms are pretty much Victorian. The best way to improve the hostel would be to raze it to the ground or pay people to stay there. That might just about do it.

Run down place with disgusting facilities (smelly, moldy showers, not properly cleaned, ...). I guess the place is only good if you want to be drunk the whole time. The staff seems to enjoy the party spirit to much.

There was a monkey in my room that talked to me. I couldn't speak the language of the monkey but it was telling me to set the hostel on fire and dancing around to Bon Jovi music from it's little monkey tape player. He kept me company when I felt sad but I refused to set the place on fire. When I told staff about the monkey they looked at me like I was on drugs, and everyone else in the room pretended they couldn't see him. The kitchen has a swimming pool inside it so people keep splashing me.

Even though they bothered us, they never tried to make up for it. Even the owner didn't tried to listen to us. What they did was organizing "free breakfast" which was sandwitch bread they put in the common kitchen every morning for all guests. What we wanted was not getting money back. Just wanted them to listen to us but... Very disappointed. Own twin room has dirty toilet and no papers, TV doesn't work. $165 per night? How can it be so insane? Need more space to complain here. Never back.

Disgusting cockroaches, nobody cleans the place. I really dont understand what they find so hard about just cleaning up once or twice a day, because that is the only problem. when I was checking in, a goddamn cockroach appeared on the reception, I would be embarrased as manager or worker from this hostel. The rest is nice, they just have to learn to clean up.

The hostel was filthy. Linens were clean, but the same can be said for almost nothing else. The shower facilities were outdated and the bathrooms were not pleasant. The staff was helpful with everything and were very accommodating for an early check-out. The location is excellent, with a great deal to see and do in the neighborhood and easily accessed via close public transit.

that hostel is the worst i have been in australia. the rooms are steemy and without ac...couldnt really sleep in their. Everything is old or over used, like the showers. The reception closes at 7pm and if your flight is delayed and you come to late, then you can sleep in front of the locked door. So if i would own a hostel and i know someone booked and will arrive arround 7, maybe i would wait a little to make sure they have the bed they booked!!!!

I love this hostel! Literally had the time of my life staying here! There is a little bit of something for everyone. There's the blue room (otherwise known as the drinking room) where people play guitars and teams play beer pong, people dance on tables and galloons of goon get consumed. Then there's the TV room, a room for chilling, catching up on your favorite programs and generally hanging out. Staff are friendly, rooms are basic but location is fantastic where your in the middle of the action

Owner Comment (Show)
Oscar there were signs everywhere advising we were not open on January 1st. All the same, there were staff around on the day. And the money has been deposited into your account. Thank you.

Do yourself a favour and DO NOT STAY HERE! It is disgusting. Only suitable for people who enjoy smoking indoors and like to shower in pure filth!!!
