The walls and the floor of the shower were dirty, disgusting... maybe in the last months anybody was clean them. The floor of one of the bathroom is durty carpet. Good quality of the beds, and the bed sheets were excellents. Excellent breakfast too, and a new and complete kitchen. Without folks, and little spoons. They must clean the oven, the microwave, the bathrooms.... and improve so much!! The noises from the pub were really annoying until 2 AM in the morning.

The main problem was that it smelled horribly of mold. We seemed to be the only ones staying there, and they kept the music playing from the pub below really late so sleeping early would have been impossible.

A great place to stay in. The room I used was very clean with own bathroom. Staff extremely hospitable and helpful. Downstairs there is a bar serving fantastic food. I can recommend the place with no doubts. Cheers

I received the email confirmation for my booking in this hostel: "The Grapes, Market St., Manchester" - Well, PAY ATTENTION BECAUSE IT IS NOT IN MANCHESTER!! The town is called KEARSLEY, and it takes 8 to 9 miles from manchester city centre! (20 min by train, 30 min by bus!). As a hostel it is not so bad, even it my room was freezing and the host gave me the confirmation of payment written on a small piece of paper (???!?!!).

I'm not a difficult person to please and I know what to expect in a hostel. I went on a winter break trip and this was one of 5 hostels that I stayed in. This place was definitely NOT up to par. It's 20 minutes outside of the city - farms are closer to Manchester than this place. There really isn't staff around except for the pub, but they are generally too busy to help with questions. This place is literally a bunch of spare rooms above a pub not a hostel/hotel.

Apart from the location as we was going into manchester. was well worth the stop. and the location is set in a nice place just too far for us but would benefit others quite easily. and would book again.
