A lovely hostel with great character near the wall. Grace and her siblings were incredibly accommodating and organised a trip to the hot springs within minutes. (Hot spring resort was OK but a bit expensive considering it is not that well maintained.) I was the only guest at the hostel on that night I stayed and was made to feel so welcome, Grace even showed me around the village in the morning after I'd checked out! I would recommend this hostel for an authentic experience! :)

A very nice little hostel! The area was a little quiet, with most shops nearby closed (mid-march), but the food was excellent and all very reasonable. The hostel owner, Grace, was excellent. She was understanding about us reducing the length of our stay since it was so quiet and even gave us some free water for our journey back to the city.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the 3 bed mixed dorm for 5 nights. Staff were absolutely angelic, going far above and beyond the call of duty. When we mentioned we wanted to visit the Badaling ski resort, the staff organised a huge tour discount AND a local driver (better than most taxi drivers, and a great price!) for transport, and to help us sort things out at the ski resort. Badaling ski resort itself was disappointing, the Great Wall was okay but touristy. This hostel's staff are wonderful.
