This hostel is actually a few rooms in someone's house, you are not given a key so have toring on the bell if you go out. There are small children living there so I did not feel relaxed about staying out late and waking them up. No English is spoken and nothing was really explained to me. it took me 35 mins to walk to the city centre . The pick up from the airport was expensive - I got a taxi for half the price on my 2nd visit to San Pedro Sula - I paid $10 instead of $20 for a solo traveller.
My transfer was not at the airport therefore I took a taxi to the Guest House, which was closed and completely locked. I knocked, rang and shouted for 15 mins and nobody came to the door. Very dangerous, in the middle of the night, in San Pedro Sula as a lone female traveller. Would not reccommend to anyone!
Guaras provided us with a warm, safe and informative visit to San Pedro Sula. Rocky and his family were incredibly welcoming and did not hesitate to host us with comfort and security as soon as we landed in Honduras. Our stay in San Pedro Sula with Guaras certainly exceeded our expectations. We were picked up from the airport, as well as provided transportation to and from the bus station at no extra charge, reliably and with pleasure. We were fed well, we slept well and were treated with care!
